Roles and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Architecture & Deployment:
Design, implement, and maintain AWS-based infrastructure for high availability and scalability.
Manage services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, and Terraform.
Automation & Scripting:
Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell for provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation/Terraform.
Monitoring & Optimization:
Configure monitoring, logging, and alerting using AWS CloudWatch and third-party tools.
Optimize cost, performance, and security of cloud resources.
Security & Compliance:
Implement best practices for identity and access management, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
Conduct regular audits and ensure adherence to organizational security policies.
Collaboration & Support:
Work closely with development teams to enable cloud-native application deployments.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Required Qualifications:
Education Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with a minimum of 5+ years in Cloud Engineering or DevOps roles and 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and system administration.
Expertise in AWS services and architecture.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform).
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Other Skills:
Solid understanding of networking, security, and cloud governance.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Business Acumen:
Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems
Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
Demonstrates awareness about competitors and industry trends
Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices
Leadership:
Ability to takes ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members
Ensures understanding of issues and presents clear rationale. Able to speak to mutual needs and win-win solutions. Uses two-way communication to influence outcomes and ongoing results
Identifies misalignments with goals, objectives, and work direction against the organizational strategy. Makes suggestions to course correct
Continuously measures deliverables of self and team against scheduled commitments. Effectively balances different, competing objectives
