About the role

As an Innovation and Development Scientist, you will play a crucial role in supporting new product development by formulating and developing products and packaging at all stages of the development process for our Oral Health brands in China. Your responsibilities will include delivering and strengthening the innovation pipeline, leading the transformation towards sustainable packaging, and anticipating the development of emerging packaging technologies and solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Leads technical projects for Brand Innovation,​​ designing and executing scientific work with minimal support, and developing research plans aligned with project goals.
• ​​Ensures strict compliance​​ with all quality, safety, GMP, and good scientific practices, while maintaining precise documentation.
• ​​Contributes to quality systems​​ by authoring and supporting SOPs, development reports, and audit processes.
• ​​Collaborates with external partners​​ to drive innovation, identify packaging improvements, and monitor competitor activities.
• ​​Provides technical expertise​​ in selecting and validating packaging systems, focusing on inclusive design, consumer satisfaction, sustainability, and feasibility.
• ​​Champions sustainable and smart packaging trends​​ to enhance efficiency and elevate the user experience.
• Continuously develops knowledge​​ in packaging innovation to implement advanced and effective solutions.

Qualifications and skills

Essential

• Bachelor Science degree or equivalent, 5 years relevant Industry relevant experience

• Chemistry (Formulation) , Engineering (Packaging, Chemical or Mechanical), Industrial Design or Science (Material Science, Polymer Chemistry, or related science discipline.
• Strong technical knowledge and experience in local consumer products/ packs, as well as familiarity with local regularity requirements.

• Science qualifications with a basis of Chemistry. Specialisation in a relevant area from this role such as formulation development

Preferred

·Masters, or relevant practical work experience
