Senior Developer (Data Engineer)

100 Store Support Center - GA Full time

PURPOSE

This position is responsible for developing and supporting the data warehouse and the business intelligence solutions using the latest cloud technologies, which includes understanding the needs of business stakeholders and translating those needs into enterprise data pipelines via ELT/ETL design and implementation.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leadership in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data modeling, data access, data integration, data discovery, database design/implementation, and use of statistical methods
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise data lake architectures, including Delta Lake or similar transactional data lake technologies
  • Assistance with the design of a new cloud data warehouse - build and support ETL/ELT processes, optimize and curate data modeling to support business reporting.
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data models derived from business processes, operational workflows, and source system behavior to support analytics and reporting use cases.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory or Azure Synapse
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g. UNIX shell scripting, Python)
  • Assistance with the design and development of an enterprise data architecture in collaboration with data and security architects
  • Design and implementation of data ingestion pipelines and processes
  • Evaluation, design and implementation of data tools and products to provide rapid automation and access to data
  • Design, development, unit testing, system testing and change management for development, enhancements and fixes related to enterprise reports and processes
  • Design and development of complex SQL.
  • Collaboration with ETL process owners to understand, design and implement data movements and integrations across a complex landscape of systems.
  • Ad-hoc data access and analysis to support business stakeholders
  • Development and publication of relevant technical documentation
  • Prioritization of multiple projects and tasks across different business units
  • Collaboration with business stakeholder teams to gather requirements for new datasets
     

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a similar field of study (relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education)
  • A solid understanding of key Analytics and Business Intelligence trends
  • Experience in building and maintaining an enterprise data warehouse
  • Experience in data modeling concepts (e.g. Star Schema and Data Vault)
  • Advanced experience with at least one DB platform (e.g., SQL Server, DB2, Oracle or AS400/IBM iSeries) and hands-on experience writing complex SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Experience with Microsoft ETL platforms (SSIS, Azure Data Factory or any other tool)
  • 5+ years of development experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company
  • Leadership skills to navigate project execution through all phases of the standard software development lifecycle
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and data analysis skills
  • Prior experience with collaborative design and implementation of SOX/compliance controls is preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS (TRAVEL, HOURS, ENVIRONMENT)

This position is salaried, knowing it may include hours which exceed eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week.


PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
 

Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
 

Store Support Center Associates


Provide leadership and support training on all Safety programs, processes and procedures, insuring that every associate is properly trained for their position.


Follow established Safety procedures in all aspects of work assignments applicable to the position. This includes participating in all Safety related training and acquiring certifications. Each associate is responsible for Safety at the Store Support Center and when visiting other company work locations. All Safety concerns must be brought to the attention of the management of a location and/or the Store Support Center Safety Department immediately.
