Job Title: Senior Designer (AI & Traditional Design)

Role: Freelancer

Duration: 3 months

Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

 

About the role:

Senior Designer who can seamlessly bridge traditional design craftsmanship with the new frontier of AI-driven creativity. This role is ideal for someone who not only masters layout, color, typography, and retouching - but also has a strong artistic eye and deep understanding of photography, lighting, and motion to push creative excellence through tools like Pencil Pro, and other AI platforms. 

You will work closely with the creative and production teams to craft stunning visual assets - from brand key visuals to AI-generated content - while maintaining a consistent aesthetic and storytelling standard across platforms. 

 

What you will be doing:

  • Develop and execute visual concepts across both traditional and AI-based workflows (Pencil Pro stills & motion, modular content, campaign KVs, social assets, etc.)
  • Collaborate with creatives and copywriters to translate brand ideas into compelling visuals. 
  • Use AI tools effectively (e.g., Pencil Pro, Firefly, Midjourney, etc.) to design, prompt, and refine image or video outputs that meet campaign requirements.  
  • Oversee retouching, DI, and post-production quality to ensure brand consistency and visual polish.
  • Mentor junior designers and share AI prompting best practices within the team.
  • Work cross-functionally with the production, planning, and account teams to ensure creative feasibility and output excellence.
  • Stay up to date with trends in AI design, visual storytelling, and emerging creative technologies. 

 

What you need to be great in this role:

  • 2+ years of experience in graphic design, visual communication, or digital content creation.
  • 1+ year of experience applying AI in creative workflows (e.g., image or video generation, AI retouch, creative prompting).
  • Strong understanding of art direction, photography, and motion principles to enhance AI-generated visuals.
  • Excellent sense of typography, color, and layout composition.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of retouching, DI, and color grading workflows.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills in a fast-paced creative environment.
  • Comfortable working with modular content structures and creative automation.
  • Basic understanding of creative evaluation frameworks (e.g., Brainsuite or similar tools) is a plus. 

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Familiarity with brand storytelling and campaign-level design systems.
  • Understanding of photographic composition and lighting direction for both studio and lifestyle shots.
  • Experience with motion graphics or cinemagraphs.
  • Interest in emerging tech and creative experimentation with AI.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and inspire the team to elevate visual quality.
  • Knowledge of Unilever or FMCG brands’ design language is a plus.
