Senior Design Technologist

Sydney Full time

Job Description:

dentsu is a network designed for what’s next, helping clients predict and plan for disruptive future opportunities and create new paths to growth in the sustainable economy through five global leadership brands; Carat, Dentsu Creative, dentsu X, iProspect and Merkle, each with deep specialisms.

Dentsu Creative operates in over 21 markets worldwide with more than 2,200 dedicated specialists. Bringing together our Japanese heritage in craft, data and technology, and our deep understanding of media and contemporary culture, Dentsu Creative is a new global creative agency. Born in Japan, raised in a digital world. We help transform brands and business through the power of Modern Creativity: which creates culture, changes society and invents the future and is accelerated by our deep specialist expertise in digital experience, earned attention and entertainment.

We are now excited to invite applications for the role of Senior Design Technologist with our awesome team in Sydney.

The role:

A Senior Design Technologist is the fusion of imagination and innovation — part creative visionary, part technical architect — on a mission to turn “what if” into “what is.” You bring ideas to life across pixels, prototypes, and platforms, transforming ambitious concepts into experiences that move people and brands forward. At our agency, this role bridges design, storytelling, and innovation to craft immersive experiences that push the boundaries of what’s possible.

In this role, you’ll live at the intersection of design, technology, and storytelling – leading the creation of everything from immersive digital products and responsive web experiences using AI-powered tools. You’ll partner with creatives, producers and engineers to prepare a variety of artwork. You will do this whilst having a lens over with brand guidelines, project timelines, and client expectations, ensuring flawless brand-compliant artwork.

Present your work to the Studio Manager and clients, you will ensure all visual elements meet the highest craftsmanship before release. Additionally, you will provide mentorship, set quality standards for the team, contribute strategic input, and continuously improve processes to ensure our creative vision is executed flawlessly, so we can release never-before work out into the world.

Core responsibilities:

  • Work hand-in-hand with creatives, strategists, producers and technologists to develop experiences that blend art and code — from traditional print, digital and social campaigns, microsites & digital products to experiential activations and AI-driven tools.

  • Foster a collaborative environment between design, strategy, production, and engineering — ensuring open communication and shared creative ownership across every stage of a project.

  • Efficiently prioritize workload to align with team demands, to maintain output consistency, quality, and meet project deadlines within budget constraints.

  • Advise both internal and client teams on how emerging technologies can enhance brand storytelling, create new value, and differentiate in competitive markets.

  • Play a lead role in reviewing decks and mockups for new business pitches.

  • Participate in client workshops and pitch sessions to help shape ideas, showcase possibilities, and visualize innovation through tangible demos and prototypes.

A bit about you:

  • Experience in a fast-paced creative studio or production team.

  • An expert in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and digital design systems such as Figma and After Effects.

  • High attention to detail and production accuracy.

  • Strong understanding of pre-press, colour management, and file formats.

  • A storyteller who sees technology not as a constraint, but as a canvas.

What’s in it for you:

  • Real flexibility to work when and where you feel most productive with our ‘Be the Best You’ policy which includes a $250 contribution to your home office set up.

  • The opportunity to give back with dedicated volunteer leave and our whole-company event, One Day for Change.

  • 5 weeks annual leave after 2 years of service and 3 whole company Wellness days off per year for you to switch off and take your day, your way.

  • Career Development and Learning & Development opportunities, including access to our global online dentsu University.

Become a champion for meaningful progress:

Our diverse and inclusive culture enables our employees to bring their whole selves to work and be proud of doing so. For us, this is the foundation for great innovation which, in turn, generates better outcomes for our people, partners and communities. This is why we encourage applications from people with disabilities, and of all ages, nationalities, backgrounds and cultures.

If you want to belong to a one global network where opportunities are limitless – we look forward to welcoming you.
