We are currently looking for a Senior Dealer Operations Manager​ to join our team in the West Region. You must reside in the San Diego area.

Summary:

Supports assigned dealerships in achieving district new‑vehicle wholesale and retail sales goals, including commercial sales, while promoting key customer‑focused programs such as CPO and rental. Regularly assesses dealership sales operations through site visits, identifies improvement areas, and motivates management to take corrective actions. Shares best practices, collaborates with the Fixed Operations Manager, and provides logistical support for market representation changes. Coordinates with other districts to strengthen national sales performance. District assignments typically range from 8 to 19 dealerships, depending on complexity and geography.

A Day in the Life:   

  • Consults with dealerships to improve wholesale and retail vehicle sales through operational analysis, financial review, inventory management, and marketing support. Conducts routine dealership visits to assess sales processes, meet with leadership, and recommend actions to strengthen performance, profitability, and compliance with company standards.

  • Reviews sales reports, financial statements, cash flow, inventory, and marketing effectiveness; proposes adjustments to improve sales, car mix, and marketing ROI. Monitors competitive activity and market trends to identify growth opportunities.

  • Trains and guides dealership staff on incentive programs, commercial vehicle sales, customer‑experience practices, and best‑in‑class sales techniques. Addresses customer satisfaction issues, monitors staff performance, and recommends corrective actions, coaching, or staffing changes when needed.

  • Supports dealership events, market representation activities, dealership openings/closures, and ensures compliance with dealer agreements and performance policies.

Who We’re Looking for:  

Required: 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required. 

Experience: Requires 6+ years of progressive marketing and sales experience, including 3+ years of analytical work within the automotive industry. Experience should span key operational and commercial areas such as sales operations, dealer agreements, marketing, parts & service, sales reporting, market analytics, pricing, customer satisfaction, warranty, advertising, promotions, vehicle mix and flow management, consumer affairs, distribution, facilities/merchandising, contests & incentives, and manufacturing.

Relevant prior experience may come from roles within a dealership, regional office, headquarters, or manufacturing environment, at either the Analyst or Regional Manager level. Advancement to the senior level requires 2+ years of direct dealer‑contact support experience (such as WDM, FOM, FSM, DOM, or equivalent). Supervisory experience and prior sales experience are preferred.

Desired:

  • Working knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, or mainframe applications to produce non-standard, creative products. Additional knowledge of sales related systems.

  • Ability to prioritize own schedules and organize workload effectively with minimal daily supervision.

  • Ability to function effectively and remain  productive in a virtual office environment

  • Ability to focus on the best interests of the dealership and Nissan.  Can remain objective in the course of building relationships.

  • Dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.

  • Attentive to others opinions and perspectives.

  • Ability to influence the actions of others by building credibility through dealership knowledge, effective recommendations, clear communications, honesty, and demonstrated follow-up on promises.

  • Ability to understand the complexities of situations and solicit assistance from others as needed

Physical Requirements

Travel:
More than 75% day and overnight domestic travel.  

Position requires residence within assigned district.

Salary Range:

$97,745.00 - $172,830.00

Salary Range Estimate: Annual Salary: (Minimum to Maximum of  Salary Range noted here). This compensation range represents the minimum and maximum base salary rates at Nissan for jobs assigned to this particular grade level. Please note that it is uncommon for an employee to be placed at either end of the range.  Rather, an employee’s actual base salary generally may fall somewhere in between and reflect the employee’s unique skills, work experience, education, work location, and market norms.  Additionally, pay may be based on comparisons to the base salary rates of other employees with similar backgrounds working in comparable roles.
