Senior Data Scientist

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join the Consumer Model Development Center within the Digital, Data & AI team. This role focuses on building and deploying end‑to‑end modeling solutions that enable optimal data‑driven digital experiences at enterprise scale.

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will apply statistical theory, modeling techniques, and machine learning expertise to design, implement, and document complex analytical solutions. You will work closely with cross‑functional partners to influence strategy, contribute to forecasting and behavioral prediction models, and ensure analytical rigor in model development. This position requires strong quantitative acumen, hands‑on production modeling and machine learning experience, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.


In this role, you will:

  • Perform highly complex activities related to the development, implementation, and documentation of statistical and machine learning models
  • Partner with Model Governance, Model Risk, and Legal & Compliance teams to develop documentation to support Wells Fargo’s Model Risk initiatives
  • Lead and influence the discussion related to analytical strategies, modeling and forecasting methods
  • Collaborate and consult with regulators, auditors and individuals that are technically oriented and have excellent communication skills


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Quantitative Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science


Desired Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience building and deploying production machine learning models
  • Experience in behavioral prediction modeling
  • Production level deployment experience of statical and machine learning
  • Strong experience in Python
  • Experience with software development
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, especially when working with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to drive strategy and influence cross-functional partners (e.g., product, engineering, design, risk)

  • This position will require onsite presence at one of the locations listed below in a hybrid work schedule

Pay Range:

Minneapolis, MN Pay Range $153,000 - $239,000

  • May be considered for a discretionary bonus, Restricted Share Rights, or other long-term incentive awards
  • Actual salary is determined by location, experience and qualifications of the job

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$139,000.00 - $239,000.00
