Job Description:

The Role: 

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist with strong statistical analysis and experience in machine learning and mathematical modeling to support manufacturing analytics and digital business transformation projects. This role will focus on developing analytical tools, advanced visualizations, predictive models, and prescriptive solutions to optimize production processes and quality outcomes 

 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Independently develop and maintain analytical tools using programming languages (e.g. SAS, SQL, Python). 

  • Provide ad-hoc analytical support to cross-functional teams (e.g., manufacturing, quality, Lab, planning, IT), including data interpretation and statistical guidance.  

  • Perform root cause analysis and statistical modeling to uncover trends and generate actionable insights.  

  • Build and deploy machine learning models to forecast outcomes and optimize processes.  

  • Apply operations research and mathematical modeling to recommend actionable optimization solutions in production. 

  • Design and enhance interactive dashboards and reports using tools like SAS Visual Analytics and Power BI 

  • Collaborate with the IT data engineering team to design, implement, enhance, investigate, and maintain existing data models and pipelines in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Snowflake. 

  • Create user-friendly instruction slides and written reports that summarize analytical methods, key findings, and business implications. 

  • Translate data into actionable insights by collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements, develop analytical solutions, and support implementation. 

  • Operate as a subject matter expert on statistical analysis, analysis methodology, modeling & application, and root-cause analysis. 

  • Stay current with emerging technologies, including agentic AI, and apply relevant innovations to business challenges. 

What We Seek: 

  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 

  • 4+ years of experience in a data science or analytics role, preferably in a manufacturing setting. 

  • Solid knowledge of statistical modeling, data analysis techniques (ANOVA, hypothesis testing) and machine learning models. 

  • Advanced programming skills and the ability to write customized programs for meaningful data analysis (SAS, SQL, and Python) 

  • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (SAS Visual Analytics, Power BI, Tableau, etc.) 

  • Hands-on experience with querying data in cloud data platforms such as GCP, Snowflake, or Databricks. 

  • Ability to process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis  

  • Familiarity with prescriptive analytics (operational research) and mathematical optimization techniques. 

  • Familiarity with cloud computing environments and experience with deploying models in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP  

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to speak the language of both IT (technical) and business (functional) teams to ensure alignment and clarity.
