Senior Data Engineer

Mō te tūranga | About the Role
• Build reusable, scalable data assets that meet evolving business needs.
• Translate business requirements into robust data products that are intuitive and consumable.
• Model data with future scalability and flexibility in mind.
• Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and tech teams to ensure alignment and value.

• Collaborate and lead with business units to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Lead the design, development and maintenance of reusable data pipelines using PySpark, Hadoop, and Airflow.
• Lead the Implementation of robust data models that support scalability and performance.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, lineage and governance across all assets.
• Automate data workflows and integrate CI/CD practices using GIT.
• Maintain and optimize databases (SQL/NoSQL) for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Lead the data excellence and inspire best practices across teams.
• Expert knowledge on modern data platform (Snowflake)
• Define and evolve enterprise-wide data engineering standards, patterns, and best practices.

• Data Engineering: PySpark, Scala, Hadoop, Airflow
• Python, SQL
• Understanding of database fundamentals (SQL / NoSQL)
• CICD and GIT experience
• Scripting and automation experience

• Platform and data analytics experience
• Working with Parquet, JSON and AVRO data
• Azure / AWS Experience 
• Openshift (Kubernetes) 
• Domain experience in financial services, risk, operations
