The mission
You will work as an engineer on our Transaction Services (TS) Analytics squad within the ING Wholesale Banking Advanced Analytics Global Tribe. The project empowers our stakeholders in Wholesale Bank TS business unit to translate scattered data into easy-to-use actionable insights with the aim to improve business performances and make better decisions. You will be part of the squad consisting of the data analysts, engineers, and project manager.
Your day to day
Your passion is to work with the latest and greatest technologies in the field of Data Engineering. As an engineer, you will be responsible to design and build the data pipelines to process the transactions data, collaborate with the data analysts, data scientists and UX designers to create the best user experience and insights for our stakeholders. The product is new in ING, and it is one of the most strategic topics at this stage in ING. Data accuracy is key to sustain our credibility. Your responsabilities will include:
Developing and maintaining data pipelines.
Supporting ongoing strategic initiatives to move data transformations to DBT.
Development of new features like user alerting.
Collaborating with analysts, scientists, product manager, and other engineers.
What you’ll bring to the team
Must have:
Hands-on experience building complex data pipelines
Knowledge of data manipulation and transformation
Experience with DBT, Apache Airflow, Apache Spark
Proficient in Python and SQL
Knowledge of software engineering best practices
Deployment and provisioning automation tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD)
Nice to have:
Hands-on experience managing and further developing distributed systems and clusters for both batch as well as streaming data (S3 and/or Kafka/Flink)
Experience in setting up and optimizing both SQL as well as noSQL databases
Experience with monitoring and observability (ELK stack)
Experience working in cloud environment (e.g., Azure DevOps, GCP [BigQuery])
System design and architecture
Knowledge of MLOps architecture and practices
Agile way of working
Experience in stakeholders' management
Comfortable working in the international environment
