As a Senior Data Engineer - Snowflake Platform, you will share ownership of Rocket Companies’ Snowflake Data Platform, which is needed for business critical data integrations, operational excellence, and stringent data security. You will work closely with various Analytics and Engineering teams to support, secure, and grow our Snowflake Data Warehouse. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about data warehousing, security and compliance standards, and implementing new platform best practices to help drive the success of the business. You should also be driven to continuously innovate and improve the infrastructure that you own all while being self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple systems and teams.
The Role
Support Data Engineering teams across the Family of Companies to utilize Snowflake as a platform in an efficient manner.
Write and tune SQL including database queries, DDL, and DML, with a focus on Snowflake-specific optimization.
Establish and enforce security best practices, access controls, and auditing on the Snowflake platform to ensure compliance with standards such as SOX and CCPA.
Design and implement CICD best practices for the Snowflake platform.
Stay up to date on the latest Snowflake offerings. Testing and implementing new functionality when appropriate.
Create code that meets design specifications, follows standards, and is easy to maintain
Own features that you develop end to end. Work with end users on requirements gathering, developing and testing your code, and implementing new processes in production that you’ll maintain and support them over time
Drive our data storage and ingestion platform and help evolve our technology stack and while using development best practices
About You
5+ years of experience overall in Enterprise Data Warehouse focused roles including 3+ years of hands-on experience maintaining and administering the Snowflake platform, including resource monitoring and cost management.
Deep experience implementing and auditing security and compliance best practices for data platforms, including familiarity with regulations like SOX and CCPA.
5+ years of experience writing SQL for production applications
3+ years of experience in at least one object-oriented or scripting language (i.e., Python, Java, Scala, etc.)
Strong experience with AWS Cloud Products (i.e., S3, DynamoDB, EC2, etc.)
Experience with Infrastructure as code practices using Terraform or similar.
Ability to add architectural insights on where to store data and modeling experience to recommend how it should be structured to make it accessible, performant, and resilient to change

The compensation information below is provided in compliance with all applicable job posting disclosure requirements. The compensation for this position is $153,500.00-$207,700.00.
