The Role
We are looking for an experienced, innovative and highly motivated Senior Data Engineer to join the development of IQVIA’s next-generation data platform designed to unify, govern and activate data across the enterprise. This role requires a considerable focus on understanding our business objectives and data we manage, owning the solution design, collaborating with multiple engineering squads to co-create a centralized data hub with modern architecture based on Snowflake, Databricks and Azure. You will have the opportunity to solve complex engineering challenges in transforming fragmented data into a single, trusted ecosystem, enabling faster innovation and AI-driven insights. You will join forces with the PO and the architects to devise effective technical strategies. Your responsibilities will include engineering solutions that enable reliable data ingestion and sharing, enhancing platform performance, and ensuring secure and consistent data consumption.

The Team
The Product Build is a vital part of our Global Infrastructure and Operations (GIO) focused on developing interoperable and secure data solutions that form the backbone of our data platform. The squad is dedicated to building the fundamental components that enable seamless data ingestion, sharing, and consistent consumption across the platform. Our emphasis lies in delivering high performance and efficiency for storage and cloud operations, with cloud/data engineers and platform engineers collaborating closely to drive innovation and maintain robust data infrastructure.
Within Product Build, we foster a culture of autonomy, collaboration, and technical excellence, empowering engineers to thrive within self-organising teams. Our work centres on supporting scalable, efficient, and secure data flows, addressing the needs of modern healthcare data ecosystems.

Core Responsibilities
  • Build data engineering solutions for processing big amount of commercial/medical data
  • Participate in analysis, system design, development and deployment of our products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data services and support business use cases
  • Work together with other senior data engineers and architects, ensuring clarity of outputs, expectations and alignment with delivery goals, conduct peer code reviews
  • Optimize performance and scalability of data workflows
  • Create comprehensive automated unit and integration tests
  • Contribute to the definition and adoption of programm technical standards

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or other related field.

Technical skills and knowledge
  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering
  • 6+ years of the following language: SQL, Python
  • Strong understanding of Databricks, Snowflake and distributed data systems
  • Practical knowledge of Apache Iceberg
  • Experience with complex ETL design and implementation
  • Experience with data analysis, data profiling, data integration, data quality, data warehousing, data reporting
  • Experience with CI/CD automation processes and tools (GitLab )

Additional/nice to have:
  • Familiarity with AI-powered productivity tools (Copilot/Cursor) and their practical use in day-to-day software development workflows (e.g. code generation, testing, documentation, task automation, or debugging support).
  • Experience working in an agile/ product-based organization
  • Knowledge of Apache Spark, Cloudera Data Platform
  • Experience with database design and modelling (Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault)
  • Previous experience with healthcare or pharmaceutical data
  • Knowledge of algorithms & design patterns and how to apply them effectively
  • Experience with large data volume (TBs’) processing

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is 177 500,00 zł - 329 600,00 zł. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
