Job Description:
General Function / Summary:
The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for ensuring that data solutions meet expectations and requirements. This role is also responsible for working with internal partners to enhance the reporting platform.
Essential Duties:
Partner with stakeholders and business leaders to design and build robust services using data pipeline tools, ETL tools, and Snowflake data warehouse.
Develop ad hoc queries, views, and materialized tables against Snowflake databases and schedule the queries using SnowSQL and Python scripts.
Translate advanced business data, integration, and analytics problems into technical approaches that yield actionable recommendations, across multiple departments.
Communicate results and educate others through visualizations, reports, and presentations.
Perform data profiling and analysis to develop strategy and create applicable data models.
Conduct code reviews ensuring adherence to best programming practices and internal procedures.
Manage changes in the SQL queries through GitHub for proper version control and seamless collaboration.
Partner with internal teams to deliver rapid and impactful solutions that align to business strategy.
Develop data architecture diagrams to support business requirements.
Develop source-to-target mappings to translate raw data into target data models.
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study or equivalent experience
4+ years of related experience
Experience in one or more of the major cloud providers in relation to integration with Snowflake
Experience leveraging data integration tools to populate target data models
Experience with SQL, Python languages
Advanced experience with relational/non-relational databases
Experience working in a high performing agile delivery model
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and produce quality results
Preferred: Tableau, PowerBI, MyDBR, Jaspersoft, Stitch, Fivetran, Certified SnowPro Advanced
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
