Data development expertise rewarded

Join the team responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining data assets used throughout FCC. As a collaborative data development professional with a passion for transforming data through clean, smart code, you’ll enable reporting for key business groups (including Strategy, Operations and Marketing).
You’ll be accountable for the development of FCC’s technical solutions, including the design, development, testing and deployment of code, and the interpretation of business requirements. You’ll deliver a high level of informal leadership while developing the most complex and strategic components of a solution.

Architectural and data modelling expertise is considered an asset.

What you’ll do:  

  • Participate in a solution’s architectural direction and be responsible for solution design and implementation 
  • Analyze and develop new code, including automation, integration and unit tests 
  • Implement code fixes and support user testing  
  • Participate in and/or lead application design sessions
  • Participate in and/or lead the design and development of models and analytics 
  • Actively contribute to code reviews, providing constructive feedback to team members 
  • Participate in and/or lead group design or coding sessions
  • Ensure technical solutions and system integrations are developed and maintained in the most efficient and effective manner 
  • Coach and mentor junior team members

What you’ll need: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or mathematics/statistics and at least 10 years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) 
  • Expertise in a chosen technology stack (AWS Glue, Spark, Python)
  • Ability to design and implement functional solutions in a framework-driven dev environment
  • Expertise with data lake, data warehouse and ETL processes
  • Expertise with SQL and databases (Oracle, Teradata, RedShift)
  • Expertise with ETL design and scheduling – and familiarity with scheduling tools like AWS step functions
  • Experience with a reporting solution (QuickSight, Cognos)
  • Proficiency with CICD pipeline, infrastructure-as-code solution (AWS Cloud Formation)
  • Proficiency with version control tools (Git)
  • Ability to monitor, debug and resolve complex production issues
  • Proven knowledge of common design patterns and when to apply them
