Role Overview

This role is instrumental in shaping a newly centralised Reporting and Business Intelligence (BI) function within Retirement Solutions (RS), Shared Services (SS). The successful candidate will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the UK and India to design and deliver advanced, automated, and insightful reporting solutions.

A strong technical foundation is essential with senior level experience, particularly in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SQL, and Excel. The role requires someone who can take ownership of solving complex problems and can translate complex data into meaningful insights, build scalable data solutions independently and part of a team. You’ll be comfortable building relationships with English speaking senior stakeholders and ensure business and client requirements are clearly understood before high quality delivery against robust delivery plans. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, document, and validate BI and reporting requirements.
  • Produce regular business and client reporting
  • Design and implement robust BI solutions using Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse architecture, pipelines, and dataflows.
  • Develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports, leveraging DAX, Power Query, and the Power BI Service.
  • Build and optimise data ingestion, transformation, and storage processes using Fabric’s Data Factory and OneLake.
  • Write and manage complex SQL scripts to support data modelling and reporting needs.
  • Work with advanced Excel tools and functions to support ad hoc analysis and reporting.
  • Cleanse, validate, and transform source system data to ensure consistency, accuracy, and usability.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring timely delivery with comprehensive documentation and quality assurance.
  • Use tools such as Jira to plan, track, and document development activities.
  • Promote standardisation and optimisation of internal and client-facing reports to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Foster strong working relationships with UK and India-based teams to ensure collaborative and transparent delivery.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minumum 6years of exp in reporting.
  • Fluent business-level communication in English—both written and verbal—is essential.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Data Factory, Pipelines, and integration with Power BI.
  • Proven expertise in Power BI (Desktop and Service), including DAX, Power Query, and data modelling.
  • Strong SQL scripting and database management skills, with the ability to write complex queries from scratch.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
  • Good understanding of testing methodologies and experience designing and executing test procedures.
