Department Description
Palmetto Home is a branch of Palmetto focused on the democratization of the renewable energy and HVAC industries. We provide homeowners with financial products to benefit from solar power, energy storage systems, and home efficiency through advanced heating and cooling technologies. We empower solar and HVAC sales professionals and installation companies with access to our proprietary platform, financing, customer management system, and milestone quality control system. Our #1 focus is a phenomenal experience for our customers and partners, evidenced in our growing financial product adoption.

This position will be based in Charlotte, NC.
Reporting
This position will report into the Staff Data Scientist.
Summary of Role
As a Senior Data Analyst, you play a central role in answering and owning data driven questions for Palmetto’s Capital team. You’ll work closely with subject matter experts to engineer improved analyses and methods surrounding quality verification processes, equipment tracking, and other aspects of the Palmetto’s operational project pipeline. You’ll cultivate an understanding of Palmetto’s data platform to ensure that you can answer high-impact data-driven questions, and you’ll disseminate these answers via clear visualizations and organized communication. The ideal team member is comfortable speaking the language of both Data Engineers and business stakeholders. Furthermore, you will play a key role in updating Palmetto’s BI stack to allow for a conversational, AI-assisted business-facing analytics tool. This will involve centralizing much of Palmetto’s distributed data knowledge, and cultivating an understanding of prompt engineering and smart guardrails in order to feel safe and confident about allowing a conversational interface to answer the business’s data-driven questions. In summary, you will work across the spectrum of data analytics; from ad-hoc queries, to reporting database updates, to visualization-building, to notebook-writing, to AI-scaling, and more. You are comfortable juggling these tools and priorities, and you can cultivate an understanding of which tool is best for which job.
