Job Description
The Senior Data Analyst will play a key role in building and maintaining robust data frameworks that support performance attribution, risk analysis, and client reporting across the investment platform.
This role will focus on establishing high-quality, integrated investment data structures that serve as the “golden source” for investment and client reporting processes. Working closely with investment professionals, risk teams, and technology partners, the role will help ensure data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility across systems supporting portfolio management and performance analysis.
What You’ll Be Trusted With
Performance and Risk Data Office Leadership
- Establish and help lead a centralized Performance and Risk Data Office, supporting the development of data governance frameworks and standard operating procedures.
- Drive data standards and best practices to ensure consistency, reliability, and transparency across investment data processes.
Data Governance and Integrity
- Implement and maintain rigorous data quality controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal standards and global regulatory frameworks such as GIPS.
- Monitor and improve the integrity and consistency of performance and risk datasets across systems.
Performance Attribution and Automation
- Partner with Performance and Risk teams to automate attribution models within Eagle Investment Systems, enabling accurate decomposition of returns across asset classes including equities and multi-asset portfolios.
- Enhance efficiency and scalability of attribution processes through automation and system optimisation.
Automated Data Validation
- Design and implement automated validation processes to detect and flag anomalies in corporate actions, pricing, and benchmark weights before data is distributed to internal teams or clients.
Data Infrastructure and ETL Development
- Support the development of scalable data infrastructure and robust ETL pipelines to integrate complex datasets from benchmark providers and market data sources.
- Ensure data is structured, normalised, and accessible to support investment analysis and reporting.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a key liaison between technology teams and investment professionals to prioritise data initiatives that enable better investment insights and decision-making.
- Contribute to projects that enhance the firm’s data capabilities and investment reporting environment.
Who you are
You are a data-driven professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys translating investment data into meaningful insights that support decision-making.
You bring:
- An advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Approximately 8 years’ experience working in data analytics, data management, or data strategy roles, preferably within asset management, financial services, or investment environments.
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality management, and data architecture principles.
- Experience working with investment data, including exposure to performance attribution, portfolio analytics, or risk reporting environments.
- Proven ability to work with large and complex financial datasets, including market data, benchmark data, and corporate actions.
- Experience with data analytics tools, automation techniques, and data pipeline development.
- The ability to translate technical data concepts into clear insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) would be advantageous.
