The Role

Recruitment Context

We are opening this position with the strategic objective of strengthening the seniority level of our Data Analytics team. We are looking for experienced profiles who can take full ownership of cross-functional projects, act as true business partners, and help elevate the team's overall impact across the organization.

Manager & Team

You will report to Fatimata Sall, Head of Data at iBanFirst.

You'll be joining a Data Analytics team of 7 people, including:

  • 2 Team Lead Data Analysts
  • 3 Data Analysts

The team collaborates closely with all business functions: Finance, Sales, Compliance, Product, Marketing, and Operations. 2026 is an exciting year for the team, with three strategic priorities driving our roadmap: enabling self-service analytics, strengthening data infrastructure and processes, and raising the bar on data quality and governance. You will play a central role in all three.

What will you do?

We are looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Data Analyst to join our Data Analytics team. In this role, you will act as a strategic business partner across all functions, driving data-driven decision-making and delivering actionable insights that shape iBanFirst's growth.

You will bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation, leading complex analytics projects end-to-end while championing scalable, high-quality data practices.

Task breakdown (indicative):

  • 70% — Business partnering, analysis & reporting: Work hand-in-hand with business teams to understand their needs, translate them into analytical frameworks, and lead complex cross-functional data projects. Build and maintain strategic dashboards and reports; perform advanced analyses (cohort, attribution, forecasting) and deliver clear recommendations.
  • 30% — Technical contribution & data quality: Write high-quality SQL, contribute to data models, and help drive data governance and self-service & AI initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

Strategic Analytics & Business Partnership

  • Act as the go-to analytics expert for all business domains (Finance, Sales, Compliance, Product, Marketing, Operations)
  • Translate complex business challenges into analytical frameworks and deliver actionable insights
  • Proactively identify improvement opportunities and lead strategic data initiatives end-to-end
  • Foster a data-driven culture through training, best practice sharing, and stakeholder enablement

Advanced Analysis & Reporting

  • Lead complex, cross-functional analytics projects involving multiple data sources
  • Build strategic dashboards and reports that empower teams to make data-driven decisions autonomously
  • Perform advanced ad-hoc analyses and deliver clear, actionable recommendations

Technical Excellence & Scalability

  • Write high-quality SQL code following best practices (version control, code reviews, testing)
  • Design and build robust, scalable data models using dbt and Snowflake
  • Enable self-service analytics by building reusable data products that reduce dependency on the data team
  • Contribute to improving data quality standards and governance practices across the team

Tools you'll work with: Snowflake, dbt (Data Build Tool), Tableau, Metabase, Git, Dust

Role Objectives

First 3 months:

  • Get up to speed with our data stack, business context, and team ways of working
  • Build strong relationships with key business stakeholders
  • Take ownership of initial projects and start delivering value independently

First 6 months:

  • Operate fully autonomously on your scope of business domains
  • Lead at least one cross-functional data project end-to-end
  • Actively contribute to self-service and data quality initiatives

First 12 months:

  • Be recognized as a strategic data partner by the business teams you support
  • Contribute meaningfully to the evolution of team processes and standards
  • Support junior team members and help raise the overall seniority of the team

Objectives are reviewed quarterly and combine both qualitative and quantitative metrics, aligned with the team's three strategic pillars.

 

What do you bring?

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, ideally in a start-up or scale-up environment
  • Proven track record delivering complex analytics projects with measurable business impact

Must-have skills:

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills — you know how to make data accessible to non-technical audiences and build strong relationships with business stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills — you can independently structure and drive long-term, multi-stakeholder data projects
  • Leadership mindset — you're comfortable driving change, supporting teams through transformation, and taking ownership
  • Technical proficiency: expert SQL (Snowflake is a plus), dbt or similar transformation tools, and strong experience with Tableau and/or Metabase
  • Business acumen — you understand the broader context behind the numbers and can translate requirements into analytical frameworks
  • Fluent in both French and English (the team is predominantly French-speaking)
  • Passion for code quality, scalability, and self-service analytics
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-paced environments

Nice to have:

  • Experience in FinTech or financial services (transactional data, regulatory reporting)
  • Previous management or mentoring experience
  • Knowledge of Python or data quality frameworks
