ING

Senior Data Analyst, External Reporting - 6 Month Fixed Term Contract

Sydney Full time

ING Australia are on the hunt for an experienced Senior Data Analyst – External Reporting to join our Finance team in Sydney on a 6 month fixed term contract.

As Senior Analyst – External Reporting, you’ll sit at the intersection of finance, data, and regulation, ensuring our external and prudential reports are accurate, compliant, and future ready. This is a hands-on role where you’ll deep‑dive into complex data, review and validate SQL and SSIS code, and translate regulatory requirements into robust reporting solutions.

You’ll work closely with IT, the Data Tribe, and the Finance Transformation team to uplift reporting processes, strengthen controls, and drive automation. Beyond traditional reporting, you’ll also contribute to the transformation of raw data into meaningful insights, including emerging sustainability and regulatory disclosures. If you enjoy combining technical expertise with regulatory interpretation and continuous improvement, this role offers the opportunity to make a real impact in a highly visible area of the bank.

We’re looking for a technically strong and detail‑driven analyst with a passion for data integrity, regulatory interpretation, and continuous improvement, who can bridge finance, technology, and regulation.

Ready to make an impact?

What you’ll do

  • Review and validate SQL database code and SSIS packages used in liquidity and external reporting to ensure compliance with APRA prudential standards and Group guidelines
  • Support delivery of Liquidity Reporting (including ARS 210) across ING Bank
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve data integrity issues and reporting discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and consistency of reporting outputs
  • Develop and maintain high‑quality technical and regulatory documentation, including interpretation registers, position papers, and data flow documentation
  • Partner with IT, Data Tribe, and Finance Transformation teams to drive automation and process improvements, reducing manual reporting effort
  • Contribute to the development of centralised data repositories and automated reporting solutions
  • Support ad‑hoc regulatory and industry initiatives, including LCR/NSFR inputs for industry‑wide stress testing
  • Act as a key point of contact for troubleshooting reporting issues and supporting audit and review activities

What we’re looking for

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Actuarial Studies, or a related discipline with a strong analytical or numerical focus
  • 5+ years’ experience in financial services, ideally in external, regulatory, or prudential reporting roles

  • Excellent analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to clearly explain technical and regulatory concepts
  • Experience with APRA prudential standards, particularly liquidity reporting, is highly desirable
  • Exposure to sustainability reporting frameworks or Finance Transformation initiatives is an advantage

What’s in it for you?

  • Discounted ING Health Insurance
  • An additional Rest Day to support your wellbeing
