American Family Insurance is seeking a Cyber Threat Intelligence leader to grow our program. You will go beyond aggregating threat feeds and producing reports. You will align intelligence to the needs of Security Operations, Vulnerability Management, and technology leadership. You will combine the threat landscape into applicable, audience-specific insights.

Position Compensation Range:
$80,000.00 - $131,000.00

Primary Accountabilities
- Collect threat intelligence from multiple sources; analyze it against our security posture and team-specific needs; and deliver high-quality tactical, operational, and strategic intelligence products.
- Partner with Information Security leaders to understand priorities and current-state capabilities, ensuring intelligence products support security strategy and posture improvements.
- Oversee internal and external sources, including TIPs, OSINT, commercial feeds, and industry sharing groups, for emerging threats, IOCs, and adversary TTPs.
- Enhance SOC and Enterprise Vulnerability Management (EVM) workflows with applicable intelligence to ensure proactive defense.
- Produce clear intelligence reports, threat alerts, and executive-ready briefings.
- Support incident response by integrating contextual intelligence into investigations, response actions, and playbook development.
- Contribute to threat models, detection logic, and adversary tracking frameworks to strengthen detection and response.
- Improve collection processes, analytical tooling, and knowledge management practices.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
- Basic knowledge of security analysis processes and standards for conducting and reporting security analysis to stakeholders.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of IT Risk Management and/or Information Systems Auditing.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of IT risk and control frameworks.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of the process to conduct IT risk and control assessments.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of IT risk management and reporting.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of risk management methods, standards, processes, governance models, and industry standard risk analysis approaches.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Familiarity with cyber threat intelligence frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK, Diamond Model, Cyber Kill Chain) to support detection and response.
- 3–5 years of experience in cyber threat intelligence, security operations, or related cybersecurity roles.
- Hands-on experience with Threat Intelligence Platforms (TIPs) and integrating threat data into SOC, incident response, and/or vulnerability management workflows.
- Demonstrated experience creating actionable reports, alerts, and briefings for technical and executive audiences.
- Proven cross-functional collaborator who improves shared intelligence processes and operational outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in Intelligence Studies, International Relations, Computer Science, Information Technology/Security, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., GCTI, CISSP, GSEC, CEH, CISM, or equivalent).

In this hybrid role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month. You will work out of one of the following offices: Boston, MA; Madison, WI; Denver, CO; Excelsior, MN; or Phoenix, AZ.
