Senior Cyber Security Analyst

About the role
 

We are currently seeking a Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.
 

The Senior Cyber Security Analyst is responsible for providing advanced cyber security operational leadership and expertise across the Elders enterprise technology environment. This role leads the detection, investigation, and response to complex cyber threats and incidents, while driving continuous improvement of cyber security monitoring, tooling, and operational practices.
Working closely with the Cyber Operations Manager, this role plays a critical role in strengthening business resilience, ensuring cyber risks are proactively identified, contained, and remediated in alignment with Elders policies, standards, and regulatory obligations. The role provides holistic technical cyber operations and cyber governance across the Elders Group IT environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the investigation and response to complex and high-impact cyber security incidents across enterprise IT and cloud environments
  • Perform advanced threat analysis, root cause investigation, and impact assessment for cyber events and vulnerabilities
  • Act as an escalation point for cyber incidents, providing technical direction and coordination during response and recovery activities
  • Guide the development, testing, and continuous improvement of incident response plans, playbooks, and procedures
  • Provide technical ownership and oversight of SOC and SIEM platforms, ensuring detection rules, alerts, and workflows are effective and aligned to threat landscapes
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements to cyber security tools, technologies, and managed services
  • Support and guide internal and external audit and assurance activities
     

About you

  • Extensive experience in a Cyber Security Operations, SOC, SIEM, or CERT environment
  • Proven leadership of complex cyber incident response activities
  • Advanced technical expertise in threat detection, investigation, and response
  • Strong understanding of enterprise security frameworks (e.g. NIST 800 series)
  • Experience guiding security tooling, vulnerability management, and detection strategy
  • Strong communication skills, including executive-level reporting
  • Ability to mentor and uplift cyber security capability across teams
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT, Cyber Security, Engineering, or related discipline
