The Team:

This role offers an exciting opportunity to become part of the EMEA Credit Product Specialist Team - a dedicated and dynamic group within the Risk & Valuations Services (RVS) Business. Building on recent years of substantial growth and product innovation, you will play a key role in advancing our capabilities. The Credit Product Specialists are responsible for supporting Sales Specialists in maximizing and utilizing S&P Global Market Intelligence’s (S&P GMI's) offerings. You will provide expert knowledge on all credit solutions, including quantitative credit risk models, expert-judgment based credit assessment scorecards, AI-driven credit assessment automation solutions, and research and ratings from S&P Global Ratings. Your expertise will help clients address complex credit risk management challenges.

The Impact:

The RVS business plays a pivotal role in driving the overall growth of the Market Intelligence Division. Its product suite is essential to this success, serving as the primary distribution channel for proprietary Ratings content and offering models and workflow tools that support Credit Workflow for both rated and unrated borrowers, counterparties, customers, and suppliers. The Credit Product Specialist is central to the business’s achievements. In today’s increasingly complex and competitive landscape, credit products require the specialized knowledge of the Credit Product Specialist to be effectively sold. These professionals bring expertise and credibility to both sales and client retention efforts. The position is highly impactful and visible, with significant client-facing responsibilities, while also engaging with numerous internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in credit solutions throughout all stages of the new business sales cycle.

  • Support clients with complex requests and deliver comprehensive solutions training.

  • Build and maintain relationships with Sales Specialists and Product Managers to diagnose, design, and implement credit workflow solutions, with a focus on the Middle East & African markets.

  • Align activities with Commercial and Product strategies for credit offerings, executing high-level pre-sales and post-sales implementation plans.

  • Serve as a credit product expert, collaborating across functional teams.

  • Demonstrate proficiency and excellence in S&P GMI credit capabilities.

  • Develop and execute campaigns and initiatives to drive revenue growth in targeted sales segments, and contribute to client retention efforts for credit products.

  • Maintain strong engagement with strategic credit customers in the market.

  • Collaborate internally to design and deliver effective credit product training.

  • Contribute to thought leadership by authoring blogs, white papers, and representing S&P GMI at conferences and webinars.

  • Lead Proof of Concept initiatives, support RFP processes, and manage test cases for regulatory requirements such as IFRS9.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Master’s degree

  • 7+ years relevant industry experience, e.g. in credit and risk management, professional services, solution providers

  • Multilingualism (business fluent): English + Arabic (must have)

  • Strong grasp of credit risk modeling techniques & credit risk management

  • In-depth understanding of complex client credit risk workflows, ideally across multiple segments (Corporates, Commercial and Investment Banking, Insurance, and Investment Management)

  • Ability to interact confidently with the team, prospects and clients as well as across-functional teams within the organization, i.e. Product Management, Education, Legal and Marketing

  • Ability to solve complex problems and, when necessary, adopt a new perspective using expert judgement

  • Possession of exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Self-motivated, with a strong desire to succeed and a positive mindset

  • Ability to work well under pressure and to multi-task

  • CFA / FRM Charterholder is a plus

  • PhD is a plus

  • Credit risk modelling experience is a plus
