Position Purpose:
The Senior Country Operations Manager works closely with the General Manager, ensuring the smooth coordination and optimal performance of all on-site operations. This includes ensuring high performance in country operations such as Continuous Improvement initiatives, achieving site cost optimization, regulatory compliance, and governance across Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), Security, and Facilities. The Senior Country Operations Manager is critical to providing oversight to site Operations and providing a crucial link to all site’s functions. The core objective is to create a safe, efficient, and high-performing operational environment that enables the site to achieve its strategic and business goals.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
A. Operational Leadership & Integration
- Act as the primary integrator for all site operations, fostering cross-functional collaboration between RDD, Supply Chain, and Support Functions.
- Chair regular operational review meetings to ensure alignment on priorities, resource allocation, and project timelines.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the site to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
- Step in for the General Manager when required, making important operational decisions and representing the site both internally and externally as necessary.
- Simplify and optimize operational processes and ensure campus asset efficiency, productivity and utilization targets are met.
B. Compliance & Governance
- Work closely with the country procurement, HSE, Facilities & Security leads and provide direct oversight to support the global functional leaders. Champion a profound safety culture ensure robust protocols are in place and tested regularly.
- Ensure regulatory compliance to all external regulatory bodies and government agencies such as PEZA, BIR, DOLE, BOC, BOI, SEC, BOQ, OMB, NTC, PNP, DENR, PDEA, FDA, amongst others.
- Ensure corporate compliance to Dyson’s internal policies and procedures
- Establish and maintain robust governance frameworks to ensure operational standards align with Dyson’s global policies and local requirements.
- Continuously assess and improve compliance processes. Audit and review operational procedures regularly, identifying gaps and ensuring corrective and preventive actions are executed without delay.
- Champion ERM, including risk identification, evaluation, mitigation.
- Own the site's emergency response and incident management plans.
- Drive ESG initiatives, identify opportunities and embed into everyday activities
- Scrutinize contracts, SLAs, and participate in strategic and tactical negotiations.
- Ensure all operations, processes, and practices strictly comply with relevant legal requirements and Dyson’s code of conduct. Monitor and interpret national and local regulations affecting business operations.
- Lead training initiatives to ensure that local teams understand compliance responsibilities, policies, and updates.
Promote a culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability. Serve as a visible role model for Dyson’s ethical standards.
C. Site R&D Operations Support
- Partner with R&D functional leaders to ensure their operational needs are met.
- Oversee the management of R&D labs, pilot plants, and critical operational equipment.
- Ensure efficient allocation of operational resources (space, equipment, capital) to support R&D pipelines and priorities.
- Inculcate mindset efficiency, productivity, and utilization of Dyson assets.
D. Support Functions Coordination
- Act as the key liaison and point of integration for local Support Function heads (DBS/Finance, HR, IT).
- Work with Local HR on organizational health, talent development, and employee engagement initiatives for the site.
- Partner with Global Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning for all operational areas.
- Partner with the various procurement teams on strategic and tactical negotiations.
- Coordinate with Local IT to ensure robust site-wide IT infrastructure and support.
- Inculcate mindset efficiency, productivity, and utilization of Dyson assets.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; Demonstrated combination of technical and business experience preferred.
- Progressive operational leadership experience in a complex, multi-functional industrial, pharmaceutical, or RDD environment.
- Demonstrated experience successfully managing large-scale capital projects.
- Demonstrated experience in contract negotiations and business case analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in budget planning and P&L management.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder and government relations management.
- Demonstrated experience in strategy development.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders across different functions.
- A results-oriented mindset with a strong focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
