Agropur is looking for a Senior corporate Tax advisor to join its team in St-Hubert.

The Senior Corporate Tax Advisor collaborates on the taxation of the cooperative and its Canadian and U.S. subsidiaries. This role assists the Corporate Tax Director and works with the existing Senior Tax Advisor to provide internal consulting and research services on tax matters, as well as support in managing specific transactions. The position requires a broad range of technical knowledge.

  • Salary scale 006: $98 400$ à 123 000 (Base salary will be determined based on your academic background, experience, training, and skills related to the position.)

 

What this role involves:

 

More specifically, the responsibilities of the Senior corporate Tax advisor are:

  • Prepares and is responsible for ensuring Canadian and U.S. tax compliance.

  • Prepares and collaborates on Canadian tax returns, including all related information and schedules (R&D, provincial allocations, etc.). Calculates installment payments and provides assistance during tax audits.

  • Prepares and collaborates on U.S. tax returns, including all related information, in coordination with U.S. divisions. Assists with calculating installment payments and supports the tax audit process.

  • Prepares and contributes to tax provisions (tax accounting), including monthly, quarterly, and annual calculations of current and deferred taxes for both Canada and the U.S.

  • Participates in various special projects such as corporate restructuring, liquidation, mergers, acquisitions, etc.

  • Responsible for maintaining head office and subsidiary G/L tax accounts and their monthly reconciliation.

  • Assists with all aspects of transfer pricing, including monitoring ACB, CbCR, and collaborates on sales tax matters and tracking government budgets.

What you need to join our team:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration combined with an accounting designation;

  • Completed or in-progress graduate diploma in taxation or “In-Depth Tax Course,” or equivalent;

  • Interest and/or experience in U.S. taxation is an asset;

  • Have 5 years of relevant experience in taxation, including experience in tax accounting (current and deferred tax accounting);

  • Fluency in French and English, spoken and written;

  • Good knowledge of common software (MS Office) and tax software (Taxprep).
