How will your ideas contribute to shaping what’s next?

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Manager – Contaminated Land Consultant to join our Queensland Environment and Planning team and take the next step in their career. Our team delivers contaminated land projects across Queensland and Australia, from desktop assessments to detailed site investigations and remediation for a diverse range of clients.

You’ll be a key contributor in a team that brings ideas to life across the built environment, transport, land and water, energy and government sectors.

With strong current and forecast workload, this is a great opportunity for a Manager, Scientist or Engineer specialising in contaminated land to join us in Brisbane or Mackay. The role offers diverse, challenging work and the chance to make a real impact in a consulting environment.

Here are the key things you will do:

  • Design, manage and deliver large contaminated land projects
  • Develop and implement Sampling Analysis and Quality Plans.
  • Coordinate and lead fieldwork campaigns including premobilisation and safety planning, soil, groundwater and surface water sampling, supervision of drilling, test pitting and groundwater well installation.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to junior team members.
  • Prepare high quality analysis and technical reports to ASC NEPM requirements.
  • Confident with data management and software with solid technical writing capability.
  • Develop reports to exceptional technical and editorial standard and work collaboratively with the team to meet client expectations.
  • Collaborate with inter-disciplinary teams; liaise with clients and regulators.
  • Proposal and project management of contaminated land projects.

What are we looking for from you?

To be successful in these roles, you will have:

  • Degree in environmental engineering or science disciplines.
  • Relevant experience in delivering contaminated land and/or groundwater investigations across multiple sectors
  • A strong professional work ethic and commitment to health and safety for yourself, your team, subcontractors and clients
  • Understanding of the Environmental Protection Act 1994 and National Environment Protection Measures and other current and emerging Queensland legislation, standards and guidelines for contaminated land.
  • A desire to deliver exceptional client experiences.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Australian citizenship, or ability to obtain citizenship in future is highly desired.
  • Current open driver’s license.
