Our team is a customer first partner delivering solutions to enable a relationship-oriented bank for a modern world. If you are a strong problem solver and interested in leading a team to drive amazing outcomes for our customers with then this is the role for you! We are looking for a Senior Consultant, SRE. This is an exciting and challenging role accountable for managing software releases in lower environments by providing consultation and guidance for CIBC’s DI&A Businesses.  It reports to the Director, IT QA.  In this role, you will elicit business/technology needs, strategize & lead software release delivery.  Success is measured by the team’s collective ability to increase output by focusing on productivity, efficiency and effectiveness for project execution.  You will be joining the DI&A team within CIBC and be responsible for supporting a environment & release management in lower environments. Your mandate is to bring strong delivery management to amplify team outcomes and enable transformation to deliver quality applications faster for project success.

How you'll succeed

  • Test Environment Management - Oversee the provisioning, configuration, refresh, and access management for SIT/UAT/PTE environments. Ensure environments are “test-ready” to support multiple delivery workstreams.
  • Coordination & Scheduling - Manage release and test window scheduling, and coordinate dependencies across various application, infrastructure, and QA teams.
  • Governance & Controls - Implement and maintain standardized controls and governance processes to ensure environment stability and minimize operational risk.
  • Continuous Improvement - Identify and drive opportunities to scale environment operations, enhance reliability, accelerate testing cycles, and reduce environment-related delivery delays.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - Build strong partnerships with application teams, platform partners, and QA to ensure seamless environment operations and alignment with delivery needs.

 

Who you are

  • You are an experienced professional. You have at least 7+ years of industry experience, including hands-on experience managing test environments for complex delivery portfolios. You have experience with environment provisioning, configuration management, and access controls, and are comfortable working with infrastructure/platform teams.
  • You are a strong coordinator. You excel at managing competing priorities, scheduling, and dependencies, ensuring environment readiness for multiple projects and teams.
  • You are a collaborative partner. You build effective relationships across business, technology, and QA, and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You are process oriented. You are skilled at implementing governance frameworks and standardized controls to ensure environment stability and compliance.
  • You hold a post-secondary degree or diploma in computer science or equivalent.
  • You are client focused. You understand the importance of environment readiness in enabling timely project delivery and positive client outcomes.
