The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for an OpenShift Senior Consultant to join us in Canberra, Australia. In this role, you will be a key driver in architecting and implementing enterprise-scale container solutions for our customers. Primary Job Responsibilities
Lead complex Red Hat Consulting engagements, taking ownership of the full project lifecycle from design and architecture to successful implementation.
Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) at the client site, addressing strategic IT needs and complex technical challenges.
Design and implement sophisticated OpenShift solutions that integrate with a customer's existing infrastructure, including networking, storage, security, and identity management.
Mentor and guide customer teams on best practices for containerisation, application deployment, and OpenShift administration.
Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows to automate application delivery and ensure a consistent, repeatable deployment process.
Produce high-quality technical documentation, including architecture designs, operational runbooks, and project reports for both technical and executive stakeholders.
Provide technical leadership and hands-on support for OpenShift upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, keeping stakeholders informed of progress and potential issues.
Champion continuous learning and stay current with the latest OpenShift features, cloud-native technologies, and industry trends.
Required Skills
Extensive experience as a senior consultant or architect, with a strong focus on cloud-native and container technologies.
Deep, hands-on expertise with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), including installation, configuration, and day-2 operations.
Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes and core concepts such as pods, services, deployments, and operators.
Expertise in designing and implementing solutions with a focus on high availability, scalability, and security.
Experience with DevOps and GitOps practices and related tools (e.g., Ansible, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Tekton).
Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts, including networking, storage, and virtualisation.
Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, Ansible).
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of resolving critical issues.
Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration is highly desirable, with the willingness to pursue other relevant certifications.
Must be an Australian citizen
Australian government security clearance at PV(Positive Vetting) is needed for this role.
This role is based in Canberra and will require onsite delivery.
