Our team

The Private Markets Commercial team is focused on designing and executing the commercial strategy for growing and serving ERM’s private markets clients. We work with private equity firms, infrastructure investors, and their portfolio companies to shape and deliver value-accretive ESG and climate advisory programmes, ranging from deal support and portfolio value creation through to investor-level strategy and operating model implementation.

Our work spans the full breadth of sustainability-related commercial advisory, from defining service offerings and value propositions, to leading the execution of strategic client programmes that support fund performance, risk management, and growth.

The role

As a Senior Consultant, you will play a key role in project delivery and in supporting client engagement across private markets accounts. You will contribute to high-quality delivery across multiple projects, develop strong consulting and client-facing capabilities, and build practical expertise in climate and ESG topics relevant to private equity and portfolio company contexts.

Key responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Support delivery of ESG and climate-related projects for private equity clients and their portfolio companies, contributing high-quality analysis and outputs.
  • Develop practical expertise in climate transition topics and the business cases for decarbonisation, including carbon reduction, Scope 3, and climate risk.
  • Deliver work across the project lifecycle: scoping, research and analysis, drafting, and final deliverable preparation.
  • Own defined workstreams and produce structured outputs such as reports, models, benchmarks, client presentations, and insights.
  • Support internal coordination and project management activities, including planning, tracking actions, and ensuring timely execution.
  • Build credibility with clients through consistent quality, responsiveness, and professional communication.
  • Contribute to business development through market research, proposal support, and helping develop client-facing materials.
  • Support knowledge building and service evolution by sharing insights and contributing to internal tools, templates, and IP development.

About you

You are a highly motivated professional with strong analytical and communication skills, capable of working independently on defined workstreams and contributing to broader project objectives. You are curious, client-oriented, and developing your expertise in sustainability and climate topics as they relate to private equity.

Required capabilities and experience:

  • Experience delivering advisory, consulting, sustainability, strategy, or private markets-related projects.
  • Strong structured problem-solving, quantitative and analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with key sustainability and climate topics such as: Science Based Targets, GHG reporting, Scope 3, climate risk, decarbonisation pathways, sustainable finance, sustainability reporting and disclosures (e.g., TCFD, GRI, SASB, ISSB, CSRD).
  • Strong writing and presentation skills, with ability to communicate insights clearly.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs under deadlines.
