The Role

Key Responsibilities

1. Comprehensive evaluation and diagnosis of the UNISYS platform

  • Perform an end-to-end assessment of the UNISYS ecosystem.

  • Analyze technology architecture: hardware, base software, networks, middleware, interfaces, and critical applications.

  • Review partitioning models, resource sharing, workloads, and historical performance.

  • Assess service configuration, processes, queues, batch jobs, security, and storage.

2. Identification of failure points and risks

  • Detect:

    • Availability risks

    • Single Points of Failure

    • Configuration or sizing issues

    • Bottlenecks in batch or transactional processes

    • Vulnerabilities in the operating system and applications

    • Monitoring or alerting gaps

  • Evaluate failover, redundancy, replication, and disaster recovery (DR) schemes.

3. Review of operational practices

  • Validate existing operational procedures and controls.

  • Assess compliance with UNISYS vendor standards and banking regulatory guidelines.

  • Review patching, upgrades, automation, and change management processes.

  • Analyze maintainability, observability, and operational maturity.

4. Recommendations and improvement roadmap

  • Propose technical and organizational improvements based on:

    • Official UNISYS standards

    • Best practices in resilience (BCP, DRP applied to UNISYS)

    • Optimization of batch and transactional workloads

    • Modernization of interfaces, communications, and security

    • Implementation of advanced monitoring and telemetry

  • Deliver a report including:

    • Findings

    • Risk classification

    • Actionable recommendations

    • Remediation plan

    • Quick wins vs. medium/long-term structural improvements

5. Strategic support and guidance

  • Advise the technical team during improvement execution.

  • Recommend performance, availability, and security optimizations for the ecosystem.

  • Support modernization or integration processes with new platforms (API, microservices, middleware).

  • Suggest strategies to reduce operational risks and production outages.


Who You Are

Technical Requirements

Mandatory

  • 5–10 years of experience in UNISYS environments.

  • At least 10 years of experience in banking architectures and high-transaction systems.

  • Deep knowledge of:

    • UNISYS architecture

    • Transaction processing

    • Security and access control

    • Network, queues, batch, and subsystems management

  • Experience performing diagnostics on critical platforms.

  • Expertise in financial protocols and transactional flows.

  • Knowledge of high availability, redundancy, clusters, and disaster recovery.

Preferred

  • Experience in technology audits or specialized consulting.

  • Knowledge of UNISYS integration with hybrid ecosystems (legacy and cloud).

  • Familiarity with banking cybersecurity standards.

  • Experience in the Mexican or Latin American banking sector.

  • Technical English for documentation; intermediate/advanced English for global team interaction.

  • Strong technical and systemic analysis skills.

  • Ability to identify complex problems and propose architectural solutions.

  • Skilled in communicating findings and alternatives at both technical and executive levels.

  • Documentation rigor, organization, and methodical approach.
