What you'll be doing

As a Senior Consultant, Insights & Analytics, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our data capabilities and analytics products. You will be responsible for migrating data assets from on-premises databases to EDGE (CIBC’s cloud-based platform), implementing medallion architecture, and ensuring robust documentation and governance. You will also maintain the team’s Github repository, collaborate with other analytics and data teams to enable data sharing through Databricks, and develop PowerBI dashboards focused on product acquisition and client engagement journeys, sourcing data from the Databricks environment.

How you’ll succeed

  • Understand business needs: Understand the business context behind a analytics need and manage scope and project timelines. Communicate analytical findings clearly to a non-technical audience/user. Have excellent organization skills to effectively manage multiple projects of varying complexity under strict timelines.

  • Relationship management & partnership: Form strong working relationships with key partners across business and technology stakeholders, influencing outcomes and driving alignment across teams. Connect with analytics and data teams across CIBC to enable seamless data sharing through Databricks.

  • Data savvy: Contributes to the ongoing development and enhancement of analytics, business case and visual analytic tools that leverage industry best practices. Recommend improvements to overall analytical approach for the team through interaction with internal stakeholders and through industry research. Comfortable with the end to end analytical process from ETL (extract, transform, load) to synthesizing and presenting insights.

  • Dashboard development: Develop PowerBI dashboards for CRTeX use cases, focusing on product acquisition and client engagement journeys, sourcing data from Databricks.

  • Migration & architecture: Lead the migration of data assets and analytics products to EDGE, implementing medallion architecture for improved data management and accessibility.

  • Database stewardship: Maintain databases, ensuring thorough documentation for each table and adherence to data governance standards.

  • Code management: Update and maintain the team’s Github repository, ensuring version control and code quality.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience. 5+ years’ experience in the banking sector (preferred) and strong skills in applied statistics and mathematics. SAS, SQL, Python, PowerBI and Tableau experience is required. Modelling skill would be an asset. Comfortable working with Big Data and have experience with complex queries and Tableau, Power BI dashboard building. You can tell an insightful story from data and deliver executive presentation decks.
