We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Sr Commercial Contract Manager to be responsible for managing and overseeing the contract lifecycle between OLG and it’s Service Providers and ensuring that all parties are adhering to terms and conditions of the contract. This role will act as the primary point of contact for day to day operations on behalf of OLG and the Service Provider as it relates to contracts and adherence to obligations.  

YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME

Reporting to the Director Contract Management, you will be empowered to:

  • Oversee contract lifecycle from contract mobilization (including entering contract into document repository, developing contract guides and onboarding materials for parties to the contract), contract renewal (monitoring contracts for expiry, submitting a renewal request and document financial and contract implications) to ongoing management of active contracts resulting in effective contract management.

  • Monitor contract party compliance with contractual terms and conditions, obligations, and milestones, further, monitor multi-contract interdependencies for compliance and impacts.

  • Responsible for overseeing the contract party performance by measuring, reporting, and tracking performance.

  • Manage receipt and review of all reports required under the contract to ensure contract adherence.

  • Manage and track the contract related issues/disputes on an ongoing basis. Act as first point of contact to resolve any breach of contract terms, contractual obligations and any issues / disputes that arise and advise and escalate any immediate contract issues as they arise providing early warnings regarding degrading or missed contractual obligations and govern penalties that will minimize OLG risk.

  • In collaboration with legal, review and manage the execution of all changes, amendments and extension to the contract as requested by either OLG or Service Provider, as per policy outlined in contract resulting in successful contract adjustments.

  • Approve any action plans resulting from performance failures or missed contractual obligations. Calculate/recommend any service level credits as related to non-compliance to the contractual agreement

  • Interpret the contract and advise appropriate action as well as develop and assist with negotiations related to all addendums and updates that are required during the contract. Mitigate risk by minimizing exposure to litigation and liability through effective interactions with Legal, Risk Management and other units

  • This role has a fiduciary relationship requiring that duties are performed with high level of care and responsibility, maintaining the integrity of agreements and ensuring business practices, applicable laws (ie. AGCO, Contract law) and OLG Procurement policies are adhered to.  Validate invoices and approve for payment.

  • Policies and procedures are in place to minimize errors, but the position is responsible for ensuring recommendations are based on appropriate analysis, and providing high-quality and accurate information

WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY

Work Experience: Minimum 7 years of progressive contract experience in a vendor management role, experience within horse racing, lottery or gaming industry an asset   

Education: Bachelor’s Degree / College Diploma in Business Administration or a related field; Procurement or paralegal designation would be an asset

Critical Skills: · Excellent interpersonal skills including a professional business manner with the ability to deal with complex confidential/sensitive matters with discretion and diplomatic manner · Ability to collaborate and negotiate with a wide variety of industry participants to maintain relevance of contract and industry programs · General knowledge and awareness of horse racing industry operations and programs
