Role Summary

In this role as Senior Cloud Engineer, you are a strategic leader, technical platform architect and mentor. You will lead high-impact client engagements, acting as a trusted advisor to external stakeholders. This is a varied role aiming to provide best practice guidance to best use cloud services in line with CreateFuture’s Cloud and DevOps strategy. 

With your expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and adjacent tools like terraform, CD workflows and kubernetes , you play a key role in designing, developing and implementing cloud automation and orchestration solutions to streamline cloud operations, supporting CreateFuture and our clients.

You effectively manage client relationships, meaningfully contributing to discussions around the effective delivery of a project. You proactively identify and improve skills and knowledge gaps in yourself and others.

What you will be doing

• Acting as the primary technical point of contact for external customers, translating complex business requirements into robust, well-architected cloud strategies.
• Designing end-to-end cloud solutions that prioritise security, scalability, and cost-efficiency across multi-cloud or hybrid environments.
• Working to ensure that the process from code commit to deployment is secure and takes into consideration any actions as well as any learnings acquired from this process.
• Mentor and guide team members, actively contributing to technical skill development and fostering a culture of learning and technical excellence.
• Defining the standard for CI/CD, security guardrails, and automated governance that teams across mobile, web, and backend will follow.
• Proactively identify and integrate emerging trends (such as AI-driven operations and advanced IaC) to enhance CreateFuture’s offerings.
• Sharing knowledge regularly with clients and internal Create Future engineers.
• Defining standards of deliverable solutions as well as internal best practices in the Cloud and throughout the SDLC.
• Involved in pitching solutions to clients.
• Providing expert-level guidance on complex integrations, legacy migrations, and cross-platform architecture to both internal teams and C-suite client stakeholders.
• Owning the delivery of major technical initiatives, ensuring that documentation, code quality, and architectural integrity meet the highest professional standards.
• Setting personal goals to obtain Professional, Speciality, and Expert level certifications from Cloud providers.
  
  

  We’d like to talk to you if you have

  • Significant experience in leading technical workstreams and managing client relationships in a consultancy or agency environment.
  • Deep knowledge in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP), with the ability to navigate multi-cloud setups.
  • Expertise in IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep) and the ability to build sophisticated, modular solutions and automated frameworks.
  • A comprehensive understanding of cloud governance, compliance frameworks, and industry-standard security principles.
  • The ability to influence executive-level decisions and articulate technical value to non-technical audiences.
  • A passion for developing others and experience in formal or informal technical coaching and mentoring.
  • A growth mindset, always studying, experimenting and trying new things yourself. Doing it, not just reading about it.
  • Proficiency in using AI tooling and advanced automation to accelerate the development lifecycle and improve operational efficiency.
  • At least one Professional or Speciality level cloud certificate, ideally across multiple CSPs - or equivalent experience.
  • A forward-thinking mindset that anticipates shifts in the cloud landscape and prepares the business to pivot accordingly.
