WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US:

Our Azure platform is a key foundation for delivering secure, scalable, and compliant cloud services across SimCorp. As a Cloud Engineer, you will help build and maintain our Azure landing zones based on the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF), ensuring that networking, governance, and infrastructure automation support our growing cloud environment.  You will work closely with platform engineers, security teams, and application teams to enable reliable cloud solutions while maintaining strong governance through Azure Policies and infrastructure automation. Success in this role means enabling teams to deploy cloud resources efficiently while ensuring the platform remains secure, standardized, and well-governed.  You will be part of a new internal service at SimCorp to manage the landing zone and help build, deploy, and operate workloads.  

What you will be responsible for 

  • Design, implement, and maintain Azure landing zones following the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and enterprise platform standards 
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Bicep to automate platform components and cloud infrastructure deployments 
  • Implement and manage Azure networking components, including virtual networks, private endpoints, virtual WAN, BGP routing, and connectivity patterns 
  • Define and maintain Azure Policies and governance controls to ensure compliance, security, and consistent platform configuration 
  • Provide 3rd-level service desk support for complex cloud platform issues and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve incidents and improve platform reliability 
  • Contribute to continuous improvements of the Azure platform, including automation, monitoring, and operational best practices 

What we value 

  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure, particularly in platform engineering or cloud infrastructure roles 
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Bicep, ARM, or similar declarative tools 
  • Knowledge of C# or other languages 
  • Knowledge of Azure networking concepts, including VNets, routing, private connectivity, and hybrid network integration 
  • Experience implementing Azure governance using Azure Policy, RBAC, and landing zone standards 
  • Experience supporting production environments and handling advanced incident troubleshooting (3rd level support) 
  • Curious to learn new cloud technologies and continuously improve platform reliability and automation 

Other requirement

  • Able to work on the EMEA schedule
  • 2x RTO per week
