Join our Canadian Segment Technology team!
Our team is responsible for developing, building, and operating the shared AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) deployment framework. This role requires strong cloud engineering expertise, deep familiarity with platform‑level services, and an ability to harness AI-assisted tooling to reduce toil and accelerate delivery. You will collaborate closely with partner teams to deliver an integrated, secure, and scalable developer experience.
Position Responsibilities:
Cluster & Platform Design
Design the AKS cluster model for the Canadian segment.
Implement improvements to existing infrastructure with zero disruption to business operations.
Build an integrated end‑to‑end experience for application development teams by combining the AKS clusters owned by our team with capabilities delivered by partner teams—including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, risk controls, and security services.
Automation, AI, & Operational Excellence
Automate cluster maintenance tasks, operational workflows, and routine processes using Infrastructure‑as‑Code and AI‑assisted tooling.
Continuously find opportunities to reduce manual effort, improve reliability, and enhance deployment efficiency.
Ensure compliance with enterprise risk and security standards across cluster design, operations, and governance.
Monitor and maintain the health, performance, scalability, and security of AKS clusters.
Collaboration & Partner Engagement
Partner with application development teams to ensure the shared cluster model meets both business and technical needs.
Work closely with capability‑owner teams (pipelines, observability, risk, security, etc.) to align standards, integrate services, and deliver a cohesive platform experience.
Maintain positive relationships with business partners and shared technology teams, ensuring alignment on governance, roadmaps, and service delivery.
Required Qualifications:
6–10 years of experience in cloud computing (Azure strongly preferred).
Expertise in automation and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, etc.).
Experience using AI‑assisted engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Azure OpenAI, or similar) to improve automation, troubleshooting, and enhance engineering workflows.
Experience operating or supporting shared platform services—such as shared Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD systems, observability platforms, or security/risk tooling.
Strong understanding of networking and security concepts.
Experience with Identity and Access Management (Azure AD, RBAC, workload identity).
Proficiency with cloud networking infrastructure and distributed system patterns.
Hands‑on experience with API gateways and cloud‑based architectures.
Strong system administration background.
Scripting/programming proficiency (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.).
Experience with containers and Kubernetes (AKS experience is an asset).
