The Senior Cloud Infrastructure & Security Engineer will support a major cloud transformation program, contributing to the buildout of a new policy administration platform within a highly regulated insurance environment. The role focuses on architecting and managing Azure cloud solutions, implementing security controls, optimizing performance and cost, and supporting governance requirements. Candidates will initially participate in strategic design and architectural planning, transitioning into hands-on engineering as the program advances.
Architect, implement, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure across PaaS and IaaS.
Develop standardized cloud patterns and reusable templates.
Configure and maintain virtual networks, firewalls, and access controls.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize workloads.
Participate in on-call rotations and incident response.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards.
Implement and enforce security policies and governance practices.
Support cloud security assessments and risk mitigation.
Partner with security teams to ensure best practices across identity, network, and workload protection.
Align cloud strategy with business objectives.
Collaborate with technical leads and cross-functional teams.
Contribute to architectural decisions and solution planning.
Communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (AWS is a plus).
Solid understanding of cloud security, networking, and governance.
Strong experience with Terraform for IaC.
Familiarity with GitHub and Jenkins (Jenkins nice to have).
Experience in regulated industries such as finance, insurance, or healthcare.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
Experience working with Agile methodologies.
Ability to deliver at a senior engineering level and collaborate with technical leads.
Experience handling governance and compliance in regulated environments.
Prior involvement in cloud transformation or modernization programs.
Comfortable working in a Windows-based environment.
Ability to ramp up quickly and begin contributing immediately.
Certifications preferred but not required (AZ-305 ideal).
Financial or FinTech experience highly valued.
Interest in staying current with emerging cloud technologies.
