The Role
Join Howden Group as a Senior Claims Executive and become an integral part of our Global Corporate Risks claim division , where you will be the key liaison between clients and insurers. This role offers an outstanding opportunity to ensure that claims are coordinated smoothly, adhering to regulatory requirements and maintaining an outstanding level of service.
What you'll do...
Collaborate with team members to establish key priorities, manage and plan workloads, ensuring that both personal and team objectives are met.
Lead and manage assigned projects, contributing to projects as required.
Provide relevant management information to senior management for decision-making.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with markets, negotiating to achieve the best outcomes for our clients.
Efficiently manage ongoing delegated authority contracts.
Craft comprehensive claims documents that meet the highest standards.
Present claims to underwriters, handle queries, provide feedback, and respond appropriately to clients, insurers, and relevant internal departments.
Review and prepare correspondence regarding notifications and claims to ensure products and cover align with clients' risk requirements, business objectives, and compliance needs.
Keep clients and insurers informed of developments relating to notifications and claims, liaising with third parties as necessary.
Investigate and resolve queries from clients, ensuring all parties are kept informed throughout the process.
Maintain up-to-date records on Group systems.
Interpret instructions and issues, implementing actions according to policies and procedures.
Stay informed of all legal and regulatory developments relevant to the department.
Who we're looking for..
Strong understanding of general insurance principles.
Experience within Employees/Personal liability and property either as a Broker or an Adjuster.
Clear understanding of company objectives and how your role contributes to these goals.
Extensive knowledge of the claims-handling process.
Insight into the broking and underwriting process.
Awareness of the market environment, including competitors, specific territory knowledge, and cultural awareness.
Knowledgeable about the regulatory environment and requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
Highly organized with outstanding planning skills.
Flexible and able to meet tight deadlines and targets.
Capable of building and maintaining balanced relationships.
Proactive, able to work on own initiative.
Resilient and calm under pressure, with strong decision-making and analytical skills.
Adaptable to change and able to react positively and efficiently.
Educated to A level standard – Grade A-C (or equivalent).
Progression towards gaining professional qualifications is desired but not essential.
