Who we are
Apollo, a Skyward Group company, is an innovation-inspired insurance platform operating at Lloyd’s of London, delivering data-driven and creative solutions across a broad range of risks.
Our name reflects our origins. Inspired by one of our founding investors, Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the moon, the business was built with the same pioneering mindset. Alongside Jim Hays, Neil set out to create a different kind of Lloyd’s platform, focused, agile and built around people.
Since launch in 2009, we have grown into a diversified insurance group offering products across Property, Casualty, Marine, Energy and Transportation, Specialty and Reinsurance, alongside Smart Follow and digital and embedded risk programmes. Our experience and unique ecosystem give Platform Partners the best chance of success, from navigating the Lloyd’s new entrant process through to the delivery of their long-term strategy.
With a team of more than 300 professionals, we continue to grow with purpose, combining underwriting excellence, innovation and collaboration to enable a more resilient and sustainable world.
Your Role
Reporting to the Head of Capital Modelling, you will support and lead key elements of the solvency capital assessment across all Apollo-managed syndicates, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and internal governance standards. This role combines deep technical capital modelling expertise with strategic business engagement, positioning capital insight at the centre of planning, underwriting strategy and sustainable growth.
What You’ll Do
You will support and enhance Apollo’s Internal Model, including development, parameterisation, documentation and ongoing refinement, ensuring model governance remains robust and responsive to validation findings and regulatory feedback.
You will oversee and review key regulatory capital submissions, including the Standard Formula, Lloyd’s Capital Return (LCR) and Lloyd’s Standard Model (LSM), ensuring timely, accurate delivery across managed syndicates.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will embed capital modelling into capital planning, capital management, business planning, portfolio optimisation and reinsurance purchasing, ensuring outputs directly inform executive decision-making. You will also support Internal Model Approval Process (IMAP) submissions for new syndicates where required.
You will collaborate across underwriting, finance, actuarial, risk and strategy teams, communicating complex capital outputs clearly to varied audiences, and represent Apollo externally on Lloyd’s and market committees where requested. Alongside this, you will maintain Continuing Professional Development and ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory and professional standards.
