Senior Calibration Specialist

Location: Portsmouth, NH. The shift schedule is from 6am-6pm: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and every other Wednesday (8 hours overtime every other week and weekend differential).

The Senior Calibration Specialist serves as a mid-career resource, performing routine calibration and maintenance on process skids, utilities, and lab instruments in a cGMP environment. This role requires executing tasks while adhering to strict SOPs and recognizing deviations from accepted practices. The position involves taking on responsibilities above the Level II role and requires strong, detailed, and timely documentation of all work. In addition to technical tasks, the individual assists peers in enhancing their knowledge of technical and business systems. As a mid-level position, it includes a training period to build upon existing skills to further career development.

What you will do:

  • Safety & GMP Compliance: Performs all work safely and in strict adherence to GMP guidelines, SOPs, and manufacturer/plant safety instructions.

  • Calibration & Maintenance: Applies working knowledge of instrument types to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to extend asset reliability.

  • Documentation & Systems: Uses CMMS (SAP) to document maintenance, manages spare parts transactions, and utilizes Quality systems (DMS & Trackwise).

  • Technical Proficiency: Interprets equipment schematics, P&IDs, and engineering drawings (Vault/TOPs) to execute calibration tasks.

  • Systems & Controls: Maintains active, hands-on logon credentials for plant network systems, including Delta V, AMS, PLC, and HMI.

  • Collaboration & Training: Collaborates with Automation, Engineering, and Validation departments, while maintaining current training and supporting 6S/continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Audit Readiness: Ensures calibration areas are organized and audit-ready, with proficiency measured by a Skills Matrix score of 2.0-2.3.

What we are looking for:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

  • 5-10 years' experience in Calibration, Metrology, Instrumentation or related field.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Experience creating new procedure.

  • Experience with cGMP documentation.

  • Ability to utilize hand tools.

  • Basic mechanical knowledge.
