We are currently looking for a Senior Buyer to join our team in Dublin 12.
What you will do
As a Senior Buyer you will support procurement and purchasing activities within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. You will focus on hands‑on buying, supplier management, and project support, ensuring materials and services are procured in line with quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
You will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Project teams, contributing commercial expertise and supporting business objectives through effective sourcing and supplier coordination. This is a senior individual contributor role with no direct people‑management responsibility.
How you will do it
Purchasing & Supply Chain Execution
Manage end‑to‑end purchasing activities for assigned categories or projects
Raise, manage, and follow through purchase orders to ensure on‑time delivery
Monitor supplier lead times, capacity, and delivery performance
Support production and project schedules through effective material planning
Supplier & Commercial Management
Manage relationships with key suppliers in manufacturing or electrical supply chains
Support commercial negotiations on pricing, lead times, and terms within agreed limits
Address supply issues proactively and support resolution of quality or delivery concerns
Maintain accurate vendor and pricing data within ERP systems
Cost & Risk Control
Support cost control initiatives and identify value‑for‑money opportunities
Highlight supply risks such as long lead items, shortages, or single‑source dependencies
Ensure purchasing decisions balance cost, quality, and delivery priorities
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Project teams to align requirements
Support new product introductions and project‑based purchasing activities
Ensure all purchasing activity complies with procurement policies and procedures
What we look for
Essential
5–6 years’ experience in a purchasing or buyer role
Proven experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring a small team in a purchasing or supply chain function
Strong commercial awareness and supplier negotiation capability
Experience managing multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven setting
Commercially astute and delivery focused
Strong organisational and follow‑through skills
Effective cross‑functional communicator in technical environments
Practical problem solver with a proactive mindset
Comfortable operating in fast‑paced, project‑driven settings
Preferred
Qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or related discipline
Experience in the electrical, mechanical, or industrial manufacturing sector
Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g. SAP or similar)
