Senior Business Transformation Manager - Private Markets - Fixed Term Contract

The role:

The Business Transformation Team is reshaping the Asset Management business to meet the demands of an evolving industry. The team is running projects to enable scalable growth, operational excellence and deliver a market leading client experience. As a Senior Business Transformation Manager for Private Markets, you will be hands on in leading projects or work streams, redefining operating models and delivering scalability to meet M&G’s growth ambitions. 

You will have a proven ability to structure and deliver complex projects, combining strong analysis, communication and operating model design skills. You are comfortable managing diverse stakeholders and cross‑functional teams in complex environments. You also bring an understanding of wholesale financial markets, with Private Markets experience strongly preferred.

This is a Fixed Term contract, ending 31st December 2026.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead transformation projects or work streams; including growth, operating model and integration
    • Take accountability for outcomes, including metrics and deliverables
    • Effectively project manage delivery in a range of settings
  • Design target operating models for critical areas of the Private Markets organisation.  This will include overall model down to detailed process mapping
    • Effectively and efficiently gain understanding of current state and work with stakeholders to agree target state. 
    • Use a range of techniques including workshops, interviews and desk based analysis
    • Collate and synthesise ambiguous and often incomplete information in to clear and actionable hypotheses
    • Consider all levers: people / organisation, process, technology and data
  • Use existing knowledge of Private Markets and Asset Management to accelerate the design of operating models and set programme priorities.  In businesses where you have less knowledge, quickly and credibly gain an understanding of the business operations and success factors
  • Build high trust, productive relationships with stakeholders.  This includes senior stakeholders and steering committees
  • Help the organisation and its leadership take data driven decisions through targeted analysis and clear and compelling business cases

Skills & Experience:

  • Project management – experience structuring and managing projects and work streams to deliver business outcomes on time and within budget
  • Analysis – strong analytical capabilities, including quantitative and financial data as well as process and efficiency.  Ability to present and communicate findings clearly and simply across a range of mediums
  • Design – operating model toolkit, including conceptual design through to detailed process mapping.  Tools such as six sigma and design thinking methods an advantage
  • Stakeholders – effective stakeholder management, listening and communication skills
  • Organisation – can run projects with cross-functional teams and multiple priorities
  • Working style – comfortable working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and sometimes incomplete and/or ambiguous information
  • Industry – understanding wholesale financial services and financial markets.  Experience in Private Markets asset management strongly preferred
