WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Insurance IT Platform team is modernizing RBC's insurance technology infrastructure to drive operational efficiency and customer experience across the organization. In this role, you will design and optimize critical business systems that directly impact millions of customer interactions and internal operations, leveraging your analytical expertise to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions using advanced data analytics and system integration tools. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams across Insurance IT, Data Management, and business units to solve high-impact problems and shape the future of our platform architecture. This is an opportunity to move beyond routine analysis—you'll influence strategic decisions, mentor junior analysts, and see your work deployed across a large enterprise while gaining exposure to enterprise-scale challenges, emerging technologies, and leadership visibility that will build a strong portfolio of impactful projects.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for improvement across the Insurance IT Platform, collaborating with multiple business partners to understand evolving requirements and pain points

• Translate complex business requirements into detailed, actionable IT specifications and technical documentation that development and QA teams can execute against

• Serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, explaining requirements clearly to developers and QA, addressing questions, and ensuring alignment throughout the development lifecycle

• Provide end-to-end support through implementation phases, proactively identifying requirement gaps, dependencies, technical risks, and potential conflicts before they impact delivery

• Troubleshoot issues during implementation, root cause analyze discrepancies between business expectations and delivered solutions, and drive remediation with cross-functional teams

• Prioritize work collaboratively with your squad, balancing competing demands while maintaining flexibility to adapt as business needs evolve

• Demonstrate self-motivation and continuous learning by staying current with platform capabilities, industry best practices, and emerging technologies to drive innovation

• Document and communicate all requirements, decisions, and implementation progress using JIRA, Confluence, and other collaboration tools to maintain transparency across stakeholders

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex business processes into detailed technical requirements and identify gaps, risks, and dependencies early

• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to translate business language into technical specifications and vice versa; capable of presenting findings clearly to both technical teams and business stakeholders

• Proficiency with business systems analysis tools and collaboration platforms including JIRA for requirements tracking, Confluence for documentation, Excel for data analysis, and other industry-standard software

• Demonstrated experience managing requirements across multiple concurrent initiatives with competing priorities, using agile methodology to stay organized and on track

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented approach with strong time management capabilities; ability to work independently, learn quickly, and adapt as business requirements evolve throughout implementation cycles

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with financial systems, financial reporting requirements, insurance domain knowledge; familiarity with regulatory compliance and data governance frameworks

• Advanced data analysis and visualization skills using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SQL; ability to extract insights from large datasets to inform business decisions and validate requirements

• Experience working with complex data mapping logic, system integrations, or ETL processes; ability to understand and document intricate data transformation requirements across multiple systems

• Background in insurance, banking, or other highly regulated industries; understanding of multi-stakeholder environments and experience navigating complex organizational structures and governance models
