Your Team

Prudential’s Distributor Domain team empowers Prudential’s agents and advisors to sell life insurance, annuities and retirement services to customers nationwide. Our enterprise-wide, platform team plays a critical and highly visible role in delivering solutions across multiple lines of business across the company. The Distributor Domain team is made up of diverse, agile-thinking, and highly skilled professionals; we use our combined capabilities to enable the organization with innovation, speed, agility, scalability, and efficiency.  We combine agentic development with an interesting and diverse mix of technologies, including graph databases, to rapidly automate and innovate.  We are technically fearless and have a passion for delivering simple and elegant solutions to complex, ambiguous problems. 

Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day  

  • Support the Solutions Architect Engineer and Product Owner in setting an ambitious and clear product vision
  • Dive deep and provide insightful analysis in extracting business rules from existing, legacy systems
  • Work on solving complex and ambiguous problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables
  • Develop user stories, process designs and logical data models in support of agile delivery teams
  • Provide insightful analytics and leverage a data-driven approach to assist in prioritizing system component conversions and migrations
  • Collaborate with product owners in understanding needs and defining feature stories, tech leads in defining technical design and other team members to understand the system end-to-end and deliver robust solutions that bring about business impact 
  • Exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results, including key performance and success metrics in a data-driven approach

  • Knowledge of business concepts, tools and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business
  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges
  • Excellent problem solving, communication and collaboration skills
  • Applied experience and/or expertise with several of the following:
    • Project/Product Management: Planning, Progress Monitoring and Status Reporting, including visualization of works; Scaling Agile – Organizing, synchronizing multiple teams setup Estimations, ROI, project life cycle
    • Effective Communication: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Ability to facilitate dialogue at the right level of detail for all members of the Agile team.
    • Decision-Making & Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
    • Business Acumen: Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
    • Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner. Ability to work seamlessly with business partners and software developers alike in a liaison role.
    • Financial Acumen: Knowledge of understanding of financial concepts, tools and processes and how financial metrics are used to monitor and drive outcomes. Includes understanding of company accounts/metrics (ex: balance sheet, profit/loss, cash flow, budget & forecast).
    • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Preferred qualifications:
    • Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering; Data Analytics or experience in related fields
    • Experience with mainframe modernization efforts and moving to distributed microservice architectures
    • Experience with agile development methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD)

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $89,000.00 to $147,000.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
  • Market competitive base salaries, with a yearly bonus potential at every level.
