Senior Business Systems Analyst (Accounting / Payments)

We are seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst with deep expertise in financial systems and payment processing to support Assurant’s Treasury functions. This role will focus on analyzing and modernizing payment flows—such as outgoing payments for claims and incoming payments for premiums—while ensuring seamless integration with ERP systems for financial accounting. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with the ability to see the big picture and dive into detailed use cases and test cases.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to define requirements, assess complex business processes, and deliver solutions that promote efficiency, compliance, and growth. Experience with cloud-based applications and modern integration patterns is a plus.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Liaise between business and IT teams to gather, analyze, and document requirements for Treasury processes across multiple systems

  • Assess end-to-end payment flows and identify opportunities for optimization

  • Define detailed use cases, process flows, and test cases to ensure clarity and completeness

  • Partner with financial systems teams to design and implement integrations that support accurate financial accounting

  • Provide strategic advice on business processes and technology solutions

  • Lead end-to-end and integration testing activities for complex projects, including test planning, execution, and risk mitigation

  • Support production systems by troubleshooting issues, performing root-cause analysis, and ensuring resolution

  • Collaborate with a strong team working toward best practices and common goals in an agile environment

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • 7+ years of progressive experience as a Business Systems Analyst in IT environments

  • Strong understanding of payment processing, treasury operations, and financial systems is highly desired

  • Hands-on experience integrating business systems with ERP platforms for financial accounting

  • 3+ years of experience in data mapping and diagramming with tools like Visio, Lucid, etc.

  • Proven ability to analyze complex business problems and translate them into actionable requirements

  • Expertise in creating detailed use cases, process flows, and test cases

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across business and technical teams

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results on time and within budget

  • Experience leading testing efforts for large-scale or complex projects

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Domain experience in insurance, banking, or financial services

  • Familiarity with payment gateways, APIs, and event-driven architecture

  • Experience with cloud-based applications and modern integration patterns

  • Business Analysis certification

Pay Range:

$74,600.00 - $124,700.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
