As a Senior Business System Analyst on our Health Portfolio Team, you will help us turn data into meaningful tools for public health. In this role, you will:
Partner with Department Data and Analytics teams to manage the intake of customer demand for IT data projects and services.
Manage agile development teams (customers, peers, engineers and developers) to deliver small to medium projects.
Develop a thorough understanding of the existing IT BI tools and platforms and apply to specific customer business problems.
Translate business needs into clear requirements and collaborate with Application and Data Services teams to design solutions.
Understand customer’s usage and desired outcomes from their data and capture complex business rules for data transformation, calculations, and schema design.
Support transition of existing on-prem SQL Data Marts to Snowflake and implementation of new warehouses in Snowflake.
Document requirements and specifications, and perform testing for development of ETL/ELT pipelines.
Use SQL to perform data analysis, validation, and testing of SQL database and Snowflake objects and stored procedures.
Develop technical documentation including data dictionaries, data flows, business rules, and other important BI metadata.
Provide customer support and enablement, incident resolution, and operational maintenance support.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:
Bachelor's degree (in lieu of degree, equivalent years of experience will be considered)
AND
3 years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. (Equivalency 7 years of qualifying training and/or experience).
Ability to pass a criminal records check.

Advanced knowledge and skill in business intelligence technologies such as data integration, data quality, data warehousing, and data analytics.
Advanced knowledge and skill capturing and documenting requirements, business rules, and specifications for design of business intelligence/business warehouse (BI/BW) solutions.
Advanced knowledge and skill of reporting features in tools such as Tableau, SQL Server Reporting Services, Snowflake, and Power BI.
Advanced knowledge and skill of SQL to write and execute queries to audit, test, and assess validity of data in BI/BW systems and recommend system and/or business process changes to improve data integrity.
Preferred Qualifications/Transferable Skills*: You do not need to have the following preferred qualifications/transferable skills to qualify. However keep in mind we may consider some or all of the following when identifying the most qualified candidates. Advanced knowledge or skill in SQL Server T-SQL including queries, stored procedures and views.
Working knowledge and skill using Azure Cloud tools, including DevOps and Azure Boards, for managing the software development lifecycle and agile development teams.
Advanced skills in managing multiple concurrent small to medium-sized projects, including demonstrated knowledge of Agile methodology to manage development teams and deliver custom-developed complex business systems.
Advanced knowledge and skill in providing consulting support to system owners and users requesting technology solutions.
Advanced knowledge and skill in defining, writing, and executing test cases and testing applications for two purposes: 1) to validate that requirements were met or defects resolved, and 2) for conducting quality assurance and end-user acceptance testing.
Working knowledge and skill in Security & Privacy Protocols (HIPAA, SSL, User & File Security).

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm. There is flexibility with the start and end times. Alternative schedules may be available on request.
