Senior Business Manager- Translational Medicine

The Business Manager will serve as a strategic advisor and thought partner to senior leadership within the gRED Translational Medicine organization. This individual will play a critical role in driving cross-functional alignment, enabling business planning and operational excellence, and ensuring the successful execution of strategic priorities. The role requires strong business acumen, systems thinking, and the ability to influence and partner across multiple levels and functions. The Business Manager also enables leadership team effectiveness by shaping agendas, connecting strategic dots, and anticipating organizational needs. This individual plays a key role in ensuring that plans are executed effectively, operations run smoothly, and teams are aligned and supported to achieve impact.

The Opportunity:

As a valuable member on the Translational Medicine team you will be:

  • Serving as a strategic thought partner to senior functional leaders (Director and Vice President level) to ensure alignment and execution of functional priorities and annual objectives.

  • Leading core business operations, including planning cycles, budget tracking, headcount management, and governance processes.

  • Driving execution of projects and operational activities aligned to established strategic direction.

  • Supporting leadership team effectiveness, including VP-led forums, by coordinating meetings, shaping agendas, and tracking decisions and actions.

  • Identifing and implementing process improvements to enhance operational efficiency within the function.

  • Coordinating cross-functional contributors to ensure alignment and timely delivery of priorities.

  • Preparing high-quality materials (e.g., presentations, pre-reads, reports) to support decision-making and communication.

  • Monitoring progress against goals, proactively identifying risks and escalating as appropriate.

  • Supporting execution of team and functional initiatives, including offsites, engagement activities, and internal communications.

  • Ensuring clarity and consistency of communication across stakeholders within the function.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

  • Typically 3–5+ years of relevant experience. Advanced degree or business training is a plus.

  • Background in clinical development, drug development, or translational research is a plus.

  • Strong communicator with the ability to clearly convey information to diverse stakeholders.

  • Highly organized with strong program and project management skills.

  • Reliable and accountable, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.

  • Collaborative team player who builds effective working relationships across functions.

  • Proactive and solutions-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Experience supporting business operations, project management, or cross-functional initiatives.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects within a matrixed environment.

  • Experience applying business management disciplines such as:

    • Strategic planning support

    • Project and program management

    • Business operations and process improvement

    • Change management support

    • Internal communications

  • Strong understanding of organizational processes and team dynamics within a scientific or technical environment preferred.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California for Senior Business Manager is $111,800.00 - $207,600. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
