This position is for a senior business development professional that will be dedicated to the airborne and strategic HF communications market within our Missions Systems/Resilient Communications Products business.  The environment is fast-paced, technical and challenging. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in US Do W and airborne communication systems requirements. Particularly a background in airborne HF communications systems in the US Air Force and US Navy is desirable. Candidates should have a thorough understanding of the US DoW requirements, budget and procurement processes, and be comfortable interacting with DoW subject matter experts and mid-tier leadership in all areas of the acquisition process. Experience with organizations such as USAF A5/A6/A8, USN N2N6/N98, USAF AFNWC, USAF ACC, USAF ACC, AFGSC, USSTRATCOM NEC, NAVWAR, PMA 209 and PEO IWS is desired.

This position can work remotely; however, it will be ideal to be located near one of the following locations: Cedar Rapids, IA, Marlborough, MA, or Richardson, TX.

What You Will Do

  • The successful candidate will work in conjunction with program management and engineering leads, to uncover, pursue and capture new business in the military airborne and strategic HF communication market

  • Responsible for developing, forecasting, and capturing new opportunities and maintaining relationships with existing customers

  • Develops and presents compelling strategic and business growth opportunities that may include market and competitive analysis via decision point reviews

  • Continually scans environment for business and strategic growth opportunities

  • Leading and working cross-functional, cross-enterprise teams

  • Prepares and supports company profiles on competitors and potential acquisition candidates, including financial analyses

  • Networks with senior internal and external personnel in area of expertise. Represents organization as a prime contact on projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters, often requiring coordination between organizations

  • Works on problems where analysis of situations or data requires a review of multiple factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions, where erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would have a serious impact on the organization

  • Normally receives minimal supervision on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments

  • Travel expectation is 25-30%


Qualifications You Must Have

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 10 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience.  In the absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret Security Clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience through a combination of military, government and/or defense electronic industry positions

  • Experience with military communication systems, capabilities, and technologies

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with SalesForce CRM tool is a plus but not required

  • Background in Airborne HF communications systems in the US Air Force and US Navy is highly desirable

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
