Senior Business Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our IT Project Management Office (PMO). Reporting to the Director, Project Management Office, the Senior Business Analyst will partner with business leaders, project managers, and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into actionable solutions that enhance performance, optimize processes, and strengthen enterprise value.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project sponsors and stakeholders to define project scope, vision, objectives, success metrics, and expected business outcomes.
  • Clearly identify project stakeholders and establish user classes, as well as their characteristics.
  • Develop requirements-gathering processes.
  • Facilitate workshops and interviews with stakeholders to gather requirements and pain points.
  • Analyze and interpret current business processes, workflows, and user requirements to identify inefficiencies/bottlenecks and recommend viable solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Conduct process mapping and modeling using tools such as Visio or Lucidchart.
  • Assist in the documentation of standard operating procedures.
  • Work with stakeholders and project teams to prioritize collected requirements.
  • Develop and utilize standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirements specifications.
  • Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, feasibility, and conformity to standards.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and the project team.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvement strategies using Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile methodologies.
  • Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle, updating and redefining as necessary.
  • Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements to project managers, project sponsors, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ related work experience in business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, elicitation, verification, and/or methodology development.
  • Post-secondary education with specialization in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field.
  • Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications and procedures in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt to new challenges and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Experience with JDE and OneStream is an asset.
  • Lean Six Sigma, Certified Business Process Professional (CBPP), and/or Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) are assets.
  • Experience within commercial real estate is an asset.
