Job Purpose:

The Senior Business Analyst plays a key role in ensuring the stability, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of business‑critical systems and processes within the BAU support function. This role acts as the bridge between operations, technology teams, and business stakeholders, overseeing the analysis, prioritisation, and resolution of incidents, service requests, and enhancement needs.
You will be responsible for deeply understanding end‑to‑end business workflows, identifying root causes of issues, and recommending solutions that optimise performance, reduce operational risk, and enhance user experience. They provide subject‑matter expertise, guide junior analysts, and support decision‑making by delivering clear documentation, impact assessments, and actionable insights.
By proactively monitoring system performance, championing process efficiencies, and collaborating closely with development, support, and operational teams, the Senior BA ensures that BAU services run reliably and consistently meet business expectations. This role ultimately safeguards operational continuity and contributes to strategic improvements across the organisation.

This role provides coverage between 07:00 and 18:00 through a rotating shift pattern (07:00–15:00 and 10:00–18:00), with reasonable adjustments considered where needed.

What you will be doing:

  • Monitor system integrity through daily system checks, to ensure a high standard of service is provided to clients

  • Capture any system bugs, enhancements, or new business requirements, to be reviewed with the team and the business units on a regular basis

  • Resolve application issues, raised by clients on a day-to-day basis, in an effective and timely manner

  • Develop and manage productive relationships with key business partners including monitoring of Service Level Agreements and conducting regular service review meetings

  • Maintain system support documentation for all supported applications, ensuring it is kept up to date within Application Profiles and included as part of Project handover

  • Assist with regular system upgrades on applications by reviewing functionality changes (new/amended), system testing, client training and updating of support documentation

  • Take the lead in resolving complex issues and share info and knowledge with others

  • Help the manager to monitor team performance and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement

  • Help the manager in developing improvements to support team processes and procedures and ensure agreed procedures are followed

  • Assist with small enhancement and project work on supported applications

  • Provide guidance and training to others to help them develop their skills and improve their performance

What you will bring:

  • Proven hands-on experience supporting front-office platforms, such as CRD (Charles River Development), Aladdin, or ETF trading and portfolio management applications, with a background in trade lifecycle processes and front-office workflows

  • Proven experience of SQL database query

  • Investment Industry knowledge

  • Business or Technology related degree is desirable but not essential

  • Must be a team player

  • Must have a desire to learn and progress (motivated enough to self-learn)

  • Must have the capability to learn quickly in a high-pressure environment

  • Must have problem-solving capabilities with an analytical and methodical approach

  • Must demonstrate a customer focused attitude and understand the fundamentals of customer service

  • Must have ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing

  • Inter-personal skills combined with willingness to listen to users, ability to analyse requirements / problems and to propose innovative but workable solutions

  • Possess a understanding of the business drivers within an investment services company
