Who You'll Work With:

The Information Technology (IT) organization is the technological foundation of our business and works in collaboration with our partners from across the company. The team drives technology and digital transformation and partners with business leaders to design and execute new strategies across the company. They also ensure the necessary IT risk management and security measures are in place and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and principles.

About the Role:

This role interacts closely with various investments teams, including ERM, data governance, investment accounting, and front office building reporting solutions.  It is critical in driving data informed decision making through the design, development, and enhancement of dashboards and reports that support the reporting process and operational efficiency.  The role requires working cross-functionally with business stakeholders, data teams, and technology partners to build robust analytical solutions that solve complex business problems.  It also requires the ability to implement analytical solutions and provide recommendations across reporting tools and technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead MicroStrategy and Power BI architectural design.

  • Provide recommendations to improve architectural design, help move our environment the next phase, consolidate platforms, enable self-service reporting within a governed environment that follows development cycles that adhere to Sox controls.

  • Dashboard and Report Development: Design, build, and maintain a comprehensive suite of dashboards and pivot/grid reports in MicroStrategy, Power BI, and Sigma.

  • Lead enhancements to high-importance dashboards, as well as troubleshooting problems that can arise

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business clients to gather reporting requirements, iterate on solutions, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives

  • Develop python code or applications to aid in the deployment or analysis of BI Dashboards

  • Data engineering: develop data assets in Snowflake and required transformation necessary to build optimized datasets; build diagrams that visualize data flows, connections, user interaction, and architecture.

  • Project Ownership: Lead end-to-end development and quarterly upgrades of critical reporting assets. Coordinate with data teams and business units to ensure timely and accurate production deployments

  • BI Governance & Strategy: Contribute to the firm’s BI reporting framework. Help shape BI best practices

  • Process and Performance Optimization: Troubleshoot data issues and performance bottlenecks. Improve data efficiency to ensure robust and easy to use reporting.

  • Team contributor: participate and collaborate in projects and tasks across the data and reporting teams, IT, and LOBs as a whole, including knowledge sharing, lending your skills, and networking.

  • Migration Management: Contribute to internal BI enablement and tool migration efforts/production deployments

  • Cross Team Communications: Act as a key liaison between business users and data engineers. Serve as a first point of contact when reporting issues arise and resolve or escalate as needed

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Graduate Degree in a STEM related field or business with business intelligence, analytics, and platform experience.

  • Extensive experience (3+ years) building visualizations and operational reports in the financial services sector, with a preference for insurance experience.

  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in SQL for query optimization, dataset creation, and data analysis.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience and interest building natural language interfaces for semantic layer, enabling seamless access to business logic without requiring SQL proficiency.

  • Experience building data engineering workflows, data wrangling methods and control materials

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

  • Proficient working knowledge of Snowflake and other databases.

  • Expertise in BI tools such as MicroStrategy, Power BI, Tableau, Sigma, etc.

  • Strong understanding of ETL processes and data pipeline development.

  • Familiarity with ODBC connections, data sources, and working with large datasets across multiple platforms.

  • Experience with data governance frameworks and tools

  • Ability to work with large datasets and develop insights that drive business strategy.

  • Working knowledge of Python, ability to work with datasets (pandas), build visuals, and experience with machine learning libraries.

  • Proficiency in Python, R, or other programming languages for data manipulation and analysis.

Compensation:

The anticipated salary range for this position in New Jersey is $135,000 - $150,000 at the commencement of employment. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be dependent on multiple factors, which may include the candidate’s geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications.

The position is eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

This position is based in Corebridge Financial’s Jersey City, NJ or Houston, TX offices and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
