What you’ll do at Jamf:

Business Intelligence at Jamf administers and manages data used for reporting and visibility at Jamf. This includes creation, management, and ongoing support for growing data creation systems at Jamf. The Senior Data Engineer is an integral member of the Business Intelligence team, responsible for implementing data management systems and tools to increase overall data quality and usage. 

As a crucial member of the Business Intelligence team at Jamf, the Senior Data Engineer plays a pivotal role in administering and managing the Enterprise data platform for reporting and visibility. This position involves creating, managing, and supporting the growth of data creation systems, with a focus on enhancing overall data quality and usability.

The Senior Data Engineer leverages their extensive experience and knowledge of the data landscape to drive data usage within Jamf. Recognised as a leader within the Data teams, they possess domain expertise, proficiency in relevant toolsets, and the ability to understand business needs, providing innovative solutions. This role significantly influences the direction and strategy of the Business Intelligence team.

This role is offered as remote. We are only able to accept applications for those based in Poland and have sponsorship to live and work in Poland#LI-Remote

What you can expect to do in this role:

  • Lead the creation of Data Infrastructure and Platforms for analysis and application deployment.
  • Support large-scale analytics projects by creating tools and resources for project teams.
  • Maintain an understanding of key business processes and support customer data access needs.
  • Establish production ready data that is highly integrated and requires advanced transformations.
  • Design, Build, Test, Integrate, Manage and Optimise data pipelines; troubleshoot as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other Jamf engineering teams to build interconnected systems for data delivery.
  • Manage security and recovery of data infrastructure as necessary.
  • Lead Data Engineers in the deployment and management of analytics solutions
  • Identify future data acquisition needs.
  • Lead the development of software solutions around Big Data and distributed systems.
  • Participate in governance teams to define requirements around data infrastructure needs.
  • Adhere to data security and compliance standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry tools and resources for data engineering.
  • Assist Business Intelligence team members in applying new methods or tools to standard processes.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ year’s experience operating big data infrastructure in a cloud-based ecosystem (AWS) (Required).
  • 5+ year’s experience with software engineering standard methodologies (Required).
  • 3+ year’s experience with SQL, Python, data pipeline and workflow management tools (Required).
  • 3+ year’s experience with establishing and handling of batch processing, streaming data or equivalent data movement platform experience (Required).
  • Deep understanding of the theoretical and practical tradeoffs of various data formats in object/file stores in combination with a variety of ETL tools (Airflow) (Required).
  • 3+ year’s experience identifying and resolving performance and data quality issues (Preferred).
  • 3+ year’s experience with integration of data from multiple data sources (Preferred).
  • 3+ year’s experience working with Snowflake data warehouses and dimensional modeling practices (Preferred).
